In a mock that I'm making, I'm having a very hard time figuring out where I want to go with our Chicago Bears. So many great options - in my opinion. _________________ Newest Mock Draft .:. 1.11.13

Cooper is the best player available, at a position of need and he is versatile. _________________

Not always an option.
I would take Cooper.
I would not be shocked to see the Bears take Fluker however as he has the potential to be a physically dominant player. Emery loves guys who are bigger, stronger and faster.
Cooper is safer and Fluker has more upside. _________________

Cooper is safer and Fluker has more upside. | Fluker. He was the top rated tackle at the beginning of the year and there has been no reason to change that. Guy is a Monster.
If a trade down is possible then I would take Warmack and hope Jones drops to the third. |

| Fluker and Cooper would be the only ones I'd consider. I voted Fluker. |

I remember that being said about Stephen Hill too. |

I remember that being said about Stephen Hill too. | Hill did not start off the year as the top rated tackle and was barely noticed till the combine. Folks get a lot more excited by a 40 time than they do the number of reps. And, to be fair, many people thought he would be drafted about where he was. I was ga-ga over him but also over Jeffery so I was happy the way it turned out. Their seasons were remarkably similar. |

I feel like DeCastro was a much higher rated guard than Fluker and Cooper and we passed on him at 19 last year. Taking a guard at 20, im not so sure, this is a fairly strong OL class in general, and I while I feel OL is our biggest weakness, I would rather see a tackle taking at 20 if we are going OL round 1.
Give me Minter here, guy is fast, atheletic, I like him to fit that Urlacher mold. |

DeCastro may have been a little bit of an Internet creation and he never was as highly ranked as Warmack.
But there is a difference last years draft was very talented and the OG talent was solid but no one of the top 5 positions.
This year the draft is much weaker and OG is a better value at 20 then it was last year at 19.
The arguement for LB I think is that the LB talent Dow not run as deep as the OG/C talent. _________________

In what world was Fluker the #1 rated OT this year? _________________

Barring a trade down, off that list I'd have to go with Cooper, followed by Fluker, Minter, Rhodes and Ertz. _________________

Aaaaannnnndddddd we're back to the "is it worth taking a guard in the 1st" discussion.
Here's a better question: is Cooper a better or worse prospect than David DeCastro was at #24 last year? _________________

Given the Bears needs and this years draft class I think that conversation is going to continue until even AFTER the draft. _________________
