Many of us expected some of these cuts to be made. However, Diehl and Webster have not been cut yet so there is more cap space to be had. What do you think their plan is with the money?
They can throw more money at KP (though their hesitation about his health remains)
They can go for a high-profile OL in FA (there are certainly some available but my expectation was not going after the top guys)
They can go after a LB in FA (though there may not be any slam dunks here)
Or maybe a CB like Brent Grimes...
Clearly, they are ready to make moves, what do you guys see happening? _________________

I see a team throwing big money at KP and I think Jerry and co will be looking to go down the TT contract route.
I voted cornerback because, judging by the 'ruthlessness' of these cuts, Webby must be up on the chopping block soon _________________

these moves are about trying to GET UNDER THE CAP. Diehl and Webster will probably be given the opportunity to restructure before they are released. _________________

This. Its to keep the players that perform.
No worries about free agency, beatty, phillips and bennett are all top players in the market.
Sign players like cruz, nicks and JPP to long contracts. And build through the draft. I can guarentee any player that we have drafted could step into their role and play just as well.
Plus when was the last time we signed big name free agents? Boley and canty (baas) and it made us lose cofield. Sorry but I am not willing to pay these free agents when we have deserving players here _________________

Agreed. We've always done that with players like kawika mitchell, deon grant, bennett, keith rivers. Etc. That affordable experience is key. And older veterans are willing to take that cheaper contract to play with a superbowl caliber team.

JPP, Nicks, Beatty and Cruz all need new contracts. We're in a rough situation cap wise, and Reese is going to have to work some magic to fill the spots of the departed players. _________________

These cuts only give us space for draft picks and to tender RFA offers really. Still need other moves and I can't see Kenny Phillips being back. Can't afford him. _________________

None of the above. Anyone looking for a big FA signing is going to be sorely disappointed. _________________

We have some massive contracts coming up to put in pace for our performers, so this 'cull' was to be expected.
Unfortuantley cant see KP being kept on the money he will command.
Our defense will need be the focus in the draft. I could perhaps see a FA target being on the OL. |

Obviously We're going to sign Peyton manning ...
Both brothers then will do an ancient fusion dance and become the greatest nfl player in history ... _________________

Depending on where the exact number falls, Giants are about $3-4 million under the projected salary cap after today's moves. #NYG |
So just enough money to sign our draft picks. _________________

| I think it's a bit more than that. We also have another $25 mill we could get with more cuts and restructures. Also another $10 mill in unneeded roster spot guys. We need to keep cutting dead weight. Let everyone know if they don't perform, they could be in trouble |

| I think Diehl and TT are next to go. I don't see them letting Webster go since we don't really have much depth at cb. |
