He wasn't bad last year. He was average. Good against the run. Was owed a bunch of money if he stayed on the roster tomorrow

Yeah this was more of a thinking forward move. They would have kept him if they stayed with a 4-3.
Might see him back in stripes next year...

I was always under the impression that he was a pretty decent role player for the Bengals 2 years ago. Nice change of rotation type of player.

He was. But that role seems to be filled easily. Rucker and Fanene did a great job in 2011. Wallace Gilberry picked up where they left off in 2012... |

Bengals seem pretty adept at filling gaps on their roster. Feel like they just need to see a little more from Dalton and they'll be a serious contender.
