Browns OLB Chris Gocong (Achilles) is expected to be ready for training camp.
Gocong ruptured his Achilles' tendon a month before the 2012 season started. Owed $4.45 million in 2013 base salary, he'll have to prove his health and effectiveness to a new regime in order to stay on board. Gocong fits best as a 4-3 weak-side linebacker that gets after the quarterback on passing downs. Jan 29 - 10:46 AM
Edit: What this means IMO is that the Browns are set at statrting Weak side ILB with Gocong there. I think There will be strong competition at the Mike spot as the 34 Favors JMJ more than it does DQ as JMJ was projected as 34 ILB with good reason. Experiance and Physicality. I'd also like to see a back up WILB signed drafted or even traded for.
59 Acho, Emmanuel LB 6-1 240 22 R Texas
50 Johnson, James-Michael LB 6-1 240 23 R Nevada
94 Carder, Tank LB 6-2 235 24 R Texas Christian
58 Fort, L.J. LB 6-0 230 23 R Northern Iowa
52 Jackson, D'Qwell LB 6-0 240 29 7 Maryland
56 Maiava, Kaluka LB 6-0 229 25 4 USC
54 Moten, Adrian LB 6-2 230 24 2 Maryland
53 Robertson, Craig LB 6-1 229 24 1 North Texas
With Gocong set to return and be ready. I think it makes DQ tradeable/expendable* with all the LB's all ready on the roster very similar types of LB.

DS,
Rather than just starting another thread and quoting a part of an article, give us more.
- What are your thoughts?
- What is there to discuss?
Just slapping up another article and starting a new thread leaves a little bit to be desired.
Thanks. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

Don't hate him just IMO he is expendable. And his value is going to do nothing but plummet in the 34. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

I like JMJ, but I feel a lot more confident in DQ than him.
I know JMJ was in the 3-4 and is physical, but that was for the University of Nevada. DQ has experience in the NFL in the 3-4. _________________

Im confused... how does an article saying Gocong's best fit as a LB is as a pass rusher translate to him playing ILB and trading DQ????? _________________

I don't see why it would be difficult for DQ to put on 10 pounds of muscle, even if it means sacrificing a little speed. _________________

DQ? Why does he need to add 10 pounds? _________________

| Wasn't Gocong supposed to be an OLB? I think his skill set would be better used there. I'm pretty sure he will be on the outside. First time he will get to play a pass rushing position and that was his specialty out of Cal Poly. I look for a big year from him as a rotational pass rusher if he is healthy. |

| Not to disrespect Gocong because I don't like to diss our own players, but Gocong at his best with us was still just average. I don't care what defense we are playing, if DQ and Gocong are on the same field DQ is the better player. My eyes tell me so. |
