I asked the same thing in the Chiefs forum with mixed responses. You guys have a bigger national fan base so I figured I would ask you guys.

What do you guys from Cali think of Raider fans that arent from Cali say there from Tennessee do you view them as "not as much of a fan as you''?

I am a Raider fan from Ny/wv. I don't think you can measure a fan by their location.

Everyone has different reasons they're fans of their team. I've never even been to Cali before but I'm a fan b/c of the person in my sig. I consider myself a pretty avid follower of this team also so I do not think proximity has anything to do w/ "how big of a fan you are"

I don't think it really matters. Although I'm only a fan of teams from California I can understand why people from other states would want to be a part of the best fan base in the world, the nation, the Raider nation baby.

Raider Nation is international.

The only advantage local fans have is being in proximity to the stadium. A lot has evolved over the years. People from all over the world can now access everything thanks to social media, message boards, and news websites. You can even watch games live no matter where you live.

Anyone who follows a team is considered a fan. Other than that, I don't think there is a set rule for what makes you a true fan & what doesn't. Location is irrelevant in these times.

I'm from Oklahoma and I promise I'm more of a fan than some other people but I'm less of a fan as well. Location does NOT matter. It's if you truly support your team through good AND bad. You don't jump ship. If you own 1 hat or dress up as a Superfan. It all matters what's in your heart. You stick up for your team no matter what. 16-0 or 0-16, I'm a RAIDER for life. NOTHING will ever change that.

this thread is BS i was born and raised in riverside so cal (while raiders was in LA)and have lived all over oregon, nevada, washington, lake tahoe CA, kentucky, texas. just because you live somewhere different does not make you less of a fan. if i was born and raised in kansas and liked the raiders doesn't mean i am less of a fan.

I def get ripped all the time though for not being a Steelers/Eagles/Giants or Jets fan. Opposing fans here though either despise the Raiders, or Don't even know they exist. I guess some repect them/like their colors lol, I see a lot of Raider snap backs around here and always ask if they are a Raider fan, and 99% say "na just like the colors bro!!" man I hate that.
