Sooo.. I guess we didn't request Tomsula because there's no news on him. Screw the 9ers, lol. |
I don't like when teams do this. I get why they do it, but I don't like it.
I certainly wouldn't want to work for an organization who was more worried about them selves than giving me a chance to move up in a big way. |
I was just thinking that. I would not take a job with the 9ers, if they were just going to block me from moving my career. I'd be pissed off if I was Donatell. As to why we didn't request to interview Tomsula, I don't know. Who was the other guy Payton requested then? Butler? Monnachino? |

To me that's about as low as you can get as a franchise... I'm not saying Donatell was high on my list, (I think I had him 4th) but to do that and keep a man from bettering himself and his familys finical situation to me is dirty pool and while he's giving the PC answer, it's human nature for him to hold some sort of ill will towards the franchise that just basically screwed him. _________________

From the Hornets games SP said a 3rd candidate is to be interviewed next week given that they get permission from their team. My guess is it's a Ravens coach. _________________

Kiper has us taking Shariff Floyd at 15 in his latest mock. Thoughts?
I like the pick, we definitely need depth along the D-line, but wouldn't he be a 3-4 end? I feel as though we have our starters at those positions and should be looking to add a starter in the first round. _________________

I've said before... Im really high on Floyd but we won't know what our outlook is for our d-line is until we get our new DC in here. We all expect Hicks to be a DE in this 34 but that's not a sure bet... our new DC might see him more as a NT.
If that is the case then Bunkley would be released and a 34 DE like Floyd could be the target. _________________

I've thought about Hicks at NT, but I feel he isn't thick enough. Isn't he 6'5"?
I've heard a bunch of names thrown out there for possible FA targets. What do you guys think about Terrence Knighton if our new DC likes Hicks at DE, and isn't a fan of Bunkley at NT? _________________

Look, I agree... I like Hicks more as a 5tec in the new 34 scheme but I ain't the new DC. We could olny speculate about how we feel the new DC will view Hicks. Hicks does have a thick truck and powerful lower body and I can see him playing NT but his athletic ability and length screams 34 DE but once again that's my opinion.
As far as TK... I like him, I feel he has the perfect body type for the position but the word on him is his conditioning and poor effort. WHo knows, maybe he just needs a fresh start and a new scheme. _________________

Depending on which position your drafting each to play...
As a 34 NT yes Hankins is the better pick but as a 34 DE Im sorry Hankins is not the athlete Floyd is. _________________

I wouldn't put too much into him saying it's his job already.
1) He's a Ryan. He likes to use that hole below his nose.
2) The Rams job was his too. _________________

If that was the case he would have been signed by now. I think that Payton would like to bring the other guy in. The longer this draws out the more I think it might be Keith Butler. You would not want to announce that you are bringing him in for an interview until the very last second, because if you announce it too early you will get competition. Well...either that or Ryan will be named DC very soon.
I think that Ryan will be a nice consolation prize. Great scheme fit. .and players respect him. |
