Ok this one will be a bit more in depth. Gonna stick to the first 4 rounds like last week.
Round 1- Someone on twitter to take out frustration of the loss on: This is a good way of venting and considering this fell to the pick I had to snatch it up.
Round 2- Food to use as a coping mechanism: Safe pick here, high carbs always do well to distract you from the fact that you saw your team lose a heartbreaker.
Round 3- Gremlins 1: For a good laugh and to keep my mind off the game.
Round 3- Gremlins 2: You can never have too much depth in the distraction department. Complete value pick but we can afford it.
Round 4- Ability to make a mock draft the day after to look forward to next season asap: And below we will have my legit mock......
Roster moves:
Tag: Dashon Goldson
Cut: Manningham, Rogers, Akers
Trade: Alex Smith to Cleveland for 2014 2nd rounder, 2nd rounder + 3rd rounder(from Car) + 4th rounder to Detroit for their 2nd rounder
re-sign: Sopoaga
Sign: Anquan Boldin(If he takes a fair contract seeing as he is being cut) or Titus Young(his actions will make him ripe for the low risk contract)
Draft:
1: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA- And we have the replacement for RJF and the future at RDE.
2: Xavier Rhodes, CB, FSU- He could rise or fall in this draft, but for the sake of the scenario I have us trading up on draft day to take him seeing as we have the ammo to do so.
3: Jordan Reed, TE, Florida- He will replace Walker and I think will be more sure handed. But either way I think him and Celek will compete for the number 2 TE spot right away.
4(comp pick): Tavarres King, WR, Georgia- If we get him here this could end up being the best pick right away.
Later we get the kicker to replace Akers. _________________ Welcome to the 9ers Q!

I would be THRILLED to have Boldin. He was on my FF team so I've watched him all year, and damn is he tough. _________________

We should sign two, and suspend one of them with a few weeks left in the year. _________________

Dirty, I like this Jones kid. I just watched some highlights and seems like he can be groomed to take over for Smith in the first as he plays in a similar scheme as ours. _________________

I like it a lot, although I would like us to sign Goldson for 5/$30.
Jones would be a great understudy for Justin.
Getting Boldin would be terrific. |

If Goldson had been willing to sign for 5/30, we would have signed him years ago. Maybe he'll feel more inclined to take it, now that he's 28-29, as opposed to two years ago. He probably felt he could sign 5 years then, then have another big payday at 31. But now, a long term contract is likely to be his last big payday. I don't know. _________________

Manningham was pretty good for us, prior to injury. I'm not sure if he'll be back to his normal form, but I'd like to keep him. _________________

His salary, yes.. but looks like he will be costing 4.95 mil against the cap when adding in everything. Just comes down to how well we feel he will bounce back from the injury... and how cozy we are with that overall cap hit. _________________

If his rehab goes well, I wouldn't mind extending his deal. He has fit in really well with us and had an instant impact on the offense. He's a much more complete receiver than he gets credit for. _________________

I was pretty impressed with him on the shorter YAC routes. He does get quick separation... but leaves a lot to be desired as a deep threat. _________________

Have we even thrown deep to him? Our biggest "deep threats" this year have been VD and Kyle Williams, but it seems with most others, we didn't even try (except for a couple of shots at Randy, one that was intercepted and a few more that should have). I don't recall Mario being sent deep. We usually see him running across the formation. And he was really good running reverses. I would like to see him motion into the backfield and run a wheel route. I feel like that would have big play potential. And for the love of me, can we implement screens, next year? WR screens and LaMike screens. Our offense has so much untapped potential, it's crazy. _________________

We did so more in the first half of the year... still not a ton. Seemed every time we did, Rio would have trouble getting off of physical contact... or be more interested in drawing a flag... or fighting the CB... rather than focusing on just making the catch. Was not impressed with his deep game.

Yeah... seemed like we ran one or two screen attempts per game. That has been something many fans around the web have been calling for more of. _________________
