Glad Cris Carter finally got in. About time the Dolphins get a WR in the HOF. _________________

Strahan in not a HOFer in my opinion. To me, a HOF player is a guy who changed the way the game is played and/or revolutionized the position. Strahan didn't come close to doing that. He had a great career and would be a 1st ballot member of the Hall of Very Good, but not the HOF. |
He had one of the best seasons ever for a defensive end by breaking the sacks record. Thats pretty damn revolutionary. |
That's not revolutionary, especially since Favre literally laid down on that play. It was a great season, but not a revolutionary season. |
A sack is a sack. Peyton Manning has done that his whole career. I get what you're saying though. If that play wasn't THE record breaker. I agree with the good but not great comment. Strahan doesn't pop in my head when I think of ultra dominant pass rushers. _________________

His 141 sacks would disagree. |

Getting really crowded next year.
Kevin Mawae
Kurt Warner
Derrick Brooks
Zach Thomas
Walter Jones
Junior Seau
Isaac Bruce
Chris Samuels
Tony Dungy
All of them become eligible. Another WR to crowd the position again. I know it's early but does anyone have any predictions for next years class?
I would say Strahan, Reed, Brooks, Jones and Dungy. _________________

I wanted to but I didn't know about both linebackers going in at the same time. There is a LB jam coming though. _________________

Would have selected him and Strahan over Tuna. | Defensive players like Greene or also Haley are maybe mentioned to be pass rushers with the voters and Peppers is more likely to be enshrined than Ware in my opinion. |

Honestly, what is surprising about him getting in? He's the epitome of a HoF player. And makes a strong case for 1st ballot. |
The timing of one being inducted is irrelevant since there isn't a hierarchy in the HOF. A HOF player is a HOF player. To suggest that someone deserves to be there, just "not as a 1st ballot" inductee is really, really stupid. It's not as if his numbers are going to improve from that year to the next. If he's a HOF player, then he should get in, period. The decision to induct a player should never be based on the 1st, 2nd, 40th, etc., year of eligibility because that undermines what the HOF is. |
Youre right. I agree 100%. In principle.
Unfortunately, the current logjam has created a climate where I think you have to approach things a little differently. Where, right or wrong, you have to ask yourself, "Does this guy deserve to go to the head of the line? Or should he wait like all these other guys have had to?" _________________

I would say Strahan, Reed, Brooks, Jones and Dungy. | And I would say all those guys save for Zach Thomas & Kevin Mawae, are probably going to get in eventually as well. _________________

Chris Samuels shouldnt. The 4th best tackle of his era shouldn't make it in. _________________

Give me Thomas before Samuels, no question. Walter Jones, Junior Seau, and Derrick Brooks are all legitimate first ballot guys. _________________
