I so vehemently disagree with this statement.
Here is a list (in no particular order) of need from a "Building Blocks" perspective as I see it.
1). LOT
2). TE
3). DE

46 sacks is a lot of sacks, and that is how many the Fins had. Granted more would be nice, but if the Fins resign Smith and draft a CB, they are 4 deep and can get by with 46 sacks. If they lose CB's then draft a DE or sign one.
The Fins think Martin can play LT, there was no drop off between Long and Martin, Martin was probably even an improvement. The Dolphins also could resign Garner who played pretty well to hold up the RT or RG spot. John Jerry is a better OT than OG and he wasn't that bad at OG. He was league average. _________________

I don't like John Jerry at OG, I agree that he filled in nicely for JL the season before last. So if we want to move Jerry to ROT for a tryout then I am fine with that. But we still need a new ROG (or LOG depending if we move Incognito back to his natural position at ROG). That means we still need to fill the following:
WR
OG
TE
And we still need depth at the Tackle position. _________________

| This is why T/G Kyle Long is one of my favorite prospects in the draft for Miami he is athletic and powerful and I believe he has pro bowl potential at either spot down the road. I really have my eye on him at 42 |

I've read the same thing, and am hopeful. I was a big fan of Jerry when we drafted him. He's seemed to have a problem motivating, but linemen sometime take a few years to mature. Lets hope it's true because we could use some good news for the offense. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. I thought it would be interesting to pick a ZBS line and see what rounds their players were drafted. I was very impressed with the way the Redskins line moved. We all know what the caoch did at Denver. Here is what I found.
Jordan Black, round 5
Jammal Brown, round 1
Kory Lichtensteiger, round 4
Will Montgomery, round 7
Chris Chester, round 2
Adam Gettis, round 5
Maurice Hurt, round 7
Josh LeRibeus, round 3
Tom Compton, round 6
Tyler Polumbus, undrafted
Trent Williams, round 1
Average of above is round 3.7. Better than half of the players were from round 5 and later. |

Sorry yes RT. The knock on him was he didn't have the feet for T in the NFL though. I just think we need to move on from him. _________________

Between:
- creating more holes by not signing our own FA's
- missing on key FA's
- rookies in the first 3 rounds that will disappoint
- drafting a 1 or 2 players in rounds 2 & 3 that are more for depth
A mock offseason not filling very hole isn't a bad mock offseason.
Just sayin'... |
Every team has holes. The key is finding great players at positions that truly impact the game. _________________ NFL: Miami Dolphins
