Quote:
The problem for Lewis is that the extract contains IGF-1,which is on the NFL’s list of banned substances.

So he took the substance to get back on the field quicker. Thoughts?

Nothing really. Nothing they can't do. This investigation will take weeks to see through unless the league considers it on the bounty scandal level which it won't by Sunday. After Sunday Ray retires.

Besides I don't really take it to heart with him, he didn't use it to gain a uncompetitive edge on guys on the field he did it to get ON the field.

NBD. Players do it. They get investigated or whatever and are punished accordingly. Don't see where the scandal is.

He used it to recover from a season ending injury OFF the Field. Any 49er fan that is licking their chops should just stop lol

This is going to have literally 0 impact on the game, unless you think this somehow affects the mind set of the players.

Ray wouldn't be suspended until weeks from now in all likelihood. If he is, he'll appeal and play Sunday, then retire.

If anything, this just cements the fact that he'll retire.

Yeah, nothing can happen here. Even if the league tests him and he tests positive he still has a right to an appeal, and it wouldn't happen before the game. Ray will play no matter what.

I remember the outrage when Rodney Harrison used a banned substance for the same purpose....

Cheater.

If you used a banned substance, is that not illegal? AKA Cheating?

I agree that he will play but come on...this doesn't paint a very positive spin on his retirement party.

You really can't spin this into it doesn't matter territory. If this is true then he cheated. Plain and simple.
