Houston native (played at Milby HS in Houston), was a lowly regarded prospect coming out of Alcorn Stare so to see him thrive as he did was a good story. I remember hearing stories about how he was a gym nut, and always spent a lot of time working out - that work paid off, as he was in good enough shape to play in the league and be productive in the league as long as he has been. Very accomplished track guy as well as a great dancer.
Always love to see Houston guys do so well. _________________

Best wishes to Driver on his retirement. Such a great player for so many years. _________________ Why, if it isn't my old friend, Mr. McGreg. With a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg. |

| Quote: | "I just kind of knew in his eyes," Driver told Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Tom Silverstein. "When you've known a guy for so long and you're friends, it's hard for him to tell you that they're not going to bring me back. I just kind of looked at him, and I just kind of knew that that's what they were going to do.
"I just wanted to make it easy on the organization, not put any pressure on them and just be able to walk away on my own terms and not have them say, 'We're not going to bring you back.' " |
Class act all the way to the end. You hardly ever see this anymore. Man he will be missed. I have my fingers and toes crossed that NFLFilms makes a Driver DVD have his story about growing up, and of course countless highlights and dance moves. Man that would be awesome. |

Didn't you just contradict yourself there...
And the gif wasn't sarcastic, summed up my feelings. I'm better at using pictures to describe emotion than words. . Won't do it again in "formal" threads if it's frowned upon though... _________________

Congratulations to DD on a great career. He was overshadowed by two quarterbacks who got most of the credit, but there is no doubt that Driver made a huge contribution to the offenses in which he played. Nonetheless, he was an excellent receiver. _________________

Good career and about right time he called it a quit. Best of luck in retirement. _________________

| Ketchup wrote: | Honestly, my feelings when i heard this was about time. The guy hasn't been a major contributor these past 2 seasons and hit an age wall HARD this past season. I came to terms some time ago that the Driver i came to know and love as a player was long gone.
With that said, i can't even begin to stress how much I'll miss Driver the person on this football team. Was always a leader by example for the younger guys and just wanted to play the game he loves in any way to help the team and an example is him asking the Coaches to play ST's late this season. One of the best "Packer People" that has come through this historic football team. He will be missed. |
This is exactly how I reacted. Although I'd bet we'll see DD around Green Bay a lot. _________________
