I emailed spotrac.com yesterday to inform them that the way they were prorating Kevin Kolb's roster bonus from 2012 (Last season) was incorrect. The Cardinals and GM Rod Graves chose to word that bonus as an immediate and full cap hit to the 2012 season only. Spotrac.com had instead mistakenly attributed that bonus to an option bonus that prorates over 5 seasons. If you check their site it's now changed to reflect the reality of the situation, that releasing Kevin Kolb saves us a butt load of cash.
It's good to have a source boys!!!

Savings of 6.5-7.5 million depending on the workout bonus, which is kinda funky cap wise.

Wow that's a lot of extra cash to have in our back pocket, but where the problem lies is it will still leave you searching for a veteran to pair with an eventual rookie...
And that veteran will make in the neighborhood of what?
Kyle Orton and Jason Campbell type money?

A restructure is still very clearly the optimal scenario. We can reduce his salary cap hit but just as much cap depending on structure and we keep him on our roster. It's far and away the best scenario to get Kevin Kolb to restructure his contract.

Now didn't you hear that any restructure would be significant? What does that mean to you in terms of his yearly numbers?
