That was seriously the most Awesome retirement I have ever seen, I dont think there has ever been a player so beloved by his fans. Driver is hands down a class act. He clearly still has years left but wanted to retire as a packer. He left money on the table, and he left valuable time doing what he loves on the table to leave in the Green and Gold. I never get choked up for anything, barely got choked up for my first born but seeing Driver and that montage, I had to fight it. Driver you will be missed. Taught me you have to grind to get what you want but not only that, it doesn't mean anything unless you do it with a smile and don't let anyone see you down. _________________

Well, my favorite players growing up are retired(Favre/Butler), and now my favorite players when I started to understand the game are retired(DD, Al Harris). Phenomenal, I'm getting old. _________________ @PJHotel_ |

Phenomenal ceremony. Didn't cry but certainly got a lump in my throat a few times. Seeing MM get choked up really shows just how good of a player/person Driver was/is. You never see MM show that side of himself, at least publicly (or did he get that way a little when they won it all? I can't remember ). Seeing those clips of a young DD brought back some good memories along with a few laughs at how skinny he really was, certainly compared to how he looks now.
Damn will I miss seeing him out there. |
