I doubt Cincy lets Andre Smith go, but if they do, Dallas won't have the cap room for him.
It's going to be a quiet free agency period for Dallas. _________________

Why do we have three 3rd rounders? Also what are the cap ramifications of trading Austin.
I hear Andre Smith is a good RT, but didn't he try bringing a gun onto a plane. Doesn't sound like a Garrett guy. The positions you drafted seem good. |

No reason to sign Barwin now that we are switching to a 4-3. I don't think for a second we could get a 3rd for Austin. But in your scenario if we could I would be all for it and I would trade up with that 3rd and a 5th and select Quinton Patton. _________________ A circle. Team Needs
DE - Anthony Spencer won't be re-signed and Demarcus Ware is getting older
OG - The 2 offseason acquisitions last year were mistakes
DT - Jay Ratliff's and Josh Brent's future are uncertain
OT - Doug Free regressed and there doesn't seem to be any improvement
S - Barry Church's recovery is in question and there needs to be an upgrade with Sensabaugh
C - Phil Costa and Ryan Cook have the size, but do they have the consistency and IQ
OLB - There is no true strong side LB for the new scheme
CB - Mike Jenkins won't be re-signed
TE - John Phillips won't be re-signed and is John Hanna ready for more of a blocking role
QB - Tony Romo isn't getting any younger and a successor needs to be found
RB - Felix Jones won't be re-signed
With so many needs and no cap space, the Cowboys will have to rebuild over the next 2-4 years.
I don't see the Cowboys signing any impact free agents.
Here's my draft.
1st - Datone Jones DE UCLA
2nd - Brandon Williams DT Missouri Southern State
3rd - Jonathon Franklin RB UCLA
4th - David Quessenberry OT San Jose St.
5th - Garrett Gilkey OG Chadron St.
6th - Michael Williams TE Alabama |

That would be a terrible draft. Datone Jones is a 2nd round pick, you're ignoring the o-line until the 4th round, and no safety at all? Our biggest needs are on the o-line, so blowing them off until later in the draft is really, really bad idea. _________________
