I wonder if the Chiefs ever offered us what they gave SF for Foles and Howie just turned it down on the dl. So Andy panicked and suggested the same deal to SF for Smith. That 2014 2nd rounder would have been terrific ammo in case we need to trade up for Teddy next year in the event a Vick/Dixon/Edwards combo can't outright lead us to the #1 pick.

Don't be surprised if he did. I posted a quote a few days ago about how Howie asked for a lot in return for Foles. Could have soured KC's opinion of him in the process. Obviously just speculation, but you know never know, and we never truly will.

I could see us going after those two, as well as Paul Kruger depending on what we're doing on D. Then we'll draft Pauls brother Joe and attempt the defensive version of the Andrews brothers.
If we only sign 1 FA, I want it to be Vollmer. He's one of the few RT's who can hold his own vs Watt.

Caplan was saying today that Vollmer is ready to walk.....I've always thought he made a lot of sense...more than most all of the other FAs....for the Eagles to go after. Still Young, on the rise, comes in and fixes oline so we only have to look in the draft for project types later and use most of out picks on defense.
Peters-Mathis-Kelce-Herremans-Vollmer
Pretty damn good line for the next 3 years (then we'd have to look into maybe getting Peter's replacement. Mathis doesn't have a lot of wear and tear so he should be fine. Todd maybe too.

Especially if they were trying to convince Dwayne Bowe to sign long term. Bowe isn't going to sign a 5 year deal because they traded for Foles.

You think Alex Smith is the reason Bowe decided to stay? How many 1000 yard wr's has Alex Smith had? Zero. Bowe is staying because he was finally offered a long term deal he liked. They probably caved into his demands because they were more reasonable than Brandon Alberts and they don't want lose either guy because doing so would mean the team with the #1 overall pick just got even worse.
