I don't get this signing at all.

It really seems like Schiano is hell bent on having competition everywhere. I don't agree with the signing because Barth deserves to have job security, but it falls in line with Schiano's philosophy.

We are going to see a lot of training camp battles this offseason.

We're drafting a QB next year first round if Palmer comes here and starts

Screw Kaeding, he can't hit anything beyond about 47 yards.

Barth has been nothing short of awesome for us. This is probably just a camp body signing.

I like the philosophy from schiano but Barth earned it. He was top 7 last year at his position and was clutch for the bucs.

Thanks to an ACL tear and a groin injury, Kaeding is no longer in the mix for a starting opportunity. He'll be a mere offseason leg behind Connor Barth.

Very Happy

Hold Mr. Barth's shoulder pads Kaeding.

We are on the same page here.

I don't think it hurts to have competition, but I don't know that it is necessary in every instance.

Yeah I'm all for competition, such as bringing in Ogletree and Smith to compete with Underwood, even talk of Palmer for Freeman...etc. But kicker? It's a very mental position..Barth has earned his status as our unquestioned starter. That being said, luckily this is just a camp leg signing.
