4 Round Mock Draft (First edition)

1. Kansas City Chiefs- Luke Joekel (OT Texas A&M)
Andy Reid spent many of his top picks in Philadelphia, finding players in the trenches. Joekel is the best LT in the draft and will improve two positions, as Brandon Albert will move over to Guard with this pick, his natural position.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars- Jarvis Jones (OLB/DE Georgia)
The Jaguars have needed an impact pass rusher forever and Jones is the best of the bunch. Though he played 3-4 in college, Gus Bradley will utilize a way to get the most out of him. Jones versatility could make his impact similar to Von Miller for Denver.

3. Oakland Raiders- Star Lotulelei (DT Utah)
Lotulelei has the size and quickness combination to become a player similar to Haloti Ngata. Richard Seymour is aging and this team is void of talent across the board, so this pick makes sense, for a defensive coach to rebuild the roster.

4. Philadelphia Eagles- Dee Milliner (CB Alabama)
After watching this defense last year, they could not cover anyone with the corners on the current roster. Nnamdi is most likely gone, with DRC maybe following him, so an impact shut down corner would be vital to rebuilding the defense. Milliner is big and physical, something in demand across the league to counter the athleticism of WR’s, i.e. Richard Sherman.

5. Detroit Lions- Damontre Moore (DE Texas A&M)
Moore is the best pure 4-3 End in the draft and would fit nicely into a defensive line, where he will not see double teams. Cliff Avril’s contract issues and Kyle Vaden Bosch’s age makes pass rusher one of the bigger needs on a team that gave up too many points last year.

6. Cleveland Browns- Barkevious Mingo (DE/OLB LSU)
With the switch back to the 3-4, athletic pass rushers will be at a premium in Cleveland. Mingo plays similar to Aldon Smith and should fit nicely along some young studs in Phil Taylor and Jabaal Sheard.

7. Arizona Cardinals- Chance Warmack (OG Alabama)
The Cardinals offensive line may have been the worst in the league last year and with this pick get arguably the best lineman in the draft. He fills a need and should be a cornerstone for the next decade, with potential to be better than David DeCastro, last year’s top Guard prospect.
8. Buffalo Bills- Bjoern Werner (DE Florida State)
The Mario Williams/Mark Anderson experiment did not pan out as they planned but the defense still has potential. Werner is a high motor guy who would fit nicely across from Williams, in the same mold of a Kyle Vanden Bosch.

9. New York Jets- Alec Ogletree (LB Georgia)
Ogletree is a physical freak, who will make an immediate impact with his vicious hits. With a team void of playmakers, his atheleticism will be a welcome addition to a defense that has fallen on hard times.

10. Tennessee Titans- Jonathon Cooper (OG UNC)
The Titans offense, specifically Chris Johnson, really struggled because of poor offensive line play last season. Cooper is an instant starter and will be a great lead blocker up the hole for CJ2K.

11. San Diego Chargers- Lane Johnson (OT Oklahoma)
Mike McCoy’s first order of business will be to find a way to keep Phillip Rivers upright. It is no coincidence that his play has dropped since Marcus McNeill fell to injuries. Johnson is a big, physical lineman with atheletic ability to deal with any pass rusher in the NFL will throw at him.

12. Miami Dolphins- John Jenkins (NT Georgia)
Jenkins made life much easier on Jarvis Jones, eating up blockers and disrupting the middle of the field for Georgia. Expect similar results as he compares very well to B.J. Raji with his size and quick feet.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Xavier Rhodes (CB Florida States)
The Buccaneers pass defense was their down fall last season and only got worse after they gave up on Aqib Talib. Rhodes has the size needed out of corners now, while can make plays in coverage or tackling in the open field.

14. Carolina Panthers- Johnathan Hankins (DT Ohio State)
The Panthers found a stud in Luke Kuechly last year and could use some players up front to keep him clean. Hankins can eat up blockers in the middle of the field, allowing the talented LB core to roam the field.

15. New Orleans Saints- Dion Jordan (DE/OLB Oregon)
New Orleans is switching over to the 3-4 and need edge rusher to complete the defense. Jordan has a size and speed combo similar to Clay Matthews, as he could hold up against the run as well as attack the passer.

16. St. Louis Rams- Eric Fischer (OT Central Michigan)
They have been looking for bookend tackles for several years now to keep Sam Bradford upright. Fischer is built in the same mold as Joe Staley, and should solidfy a decent offensive line for several years.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers- Manti Te’o (LB Notre Dame)
The Steelers are one of the smartest organizations in the sport and will not pass on talent like Te’o. He is a stud in the middle of the 3-4 and with James Farrior retiring and Larry Foote aging, fits a major need. Te’o should be the next field general for the Steel Curtain defense.

18. Dallas Cowboys- Sheldon Richardson (DT Missouri)
The move to the 4-3 means they need to find players that can fill the middle of the defense. Richardson is a quick tackle that is scheme versatile, which will help in the transition.

19. New York Giants- Khaseem Greene (LB Rutgers)
Greene was simply a tackling machine in college and fills a major need for a Giants defense that needs impact players in the middle of the field. He fits nicely as a SAM LB in their system and will be consistently around the ball.

20. Chicago Bears- Kevin Minter (LB LSU)
Minter is a great MLB prospect and with the injury/age questions surrounding Brian Urlacher, he could be the heir apparent leader of the defense.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- Gionvani Bernard (RB UNC)
The Bengals already stated they are looking for a compliment to the Law Firm and Bernard is a perfect change of pace back. Bernard can catch the ball well and is good on the edges, with some explosiveness.

22. St. Louis Rams (From Washington Redskins)- DeAndre Hopkins (WR Clemson)
After filling one need with Eric Fischer, the Rams get a big play maker this offense sorely lacks. Hopkins is explosive and can really open things up for Bradford.

23. Minnesota Vikings- Keenan Allen (WR California)
The Vikings were very one dimensional last year, once Percy Harvin went down. Adding a big target that can stretch the field will only help AD.

24. Indianapolis Colts- Montee Ball (RB Wisconsin)
Vick Ballard proved to be a viable option out of the backfield last year but Ball is a true grinder and every down back. He could handle the heavy workload in similar fashion to Benjarvous Green-Ellis.

25. Seattle Seahawks- Cordarrelle Patterson (WR Tennessee)
Sidney Rice is a solid threat but not a true No. 1 wideout, while Golden Tate is a good option out of the slot. Patterson could be the go-to guy for Russell Wilson, with his size and speed combo.

26. Green Bay Packers- Kenny Vaccaro (S Texas)
Green Bay struggled again on defense all season long and could use a playmaker in the middle of the field. Charles Woodson has issues with his health and his age that make Vaccaro a smart pick to take over as the tone setter at the Safety position.

27. Houston Texans- Tyler Eifert (TE Notre Dame)
The Texans are one of the most complete teams in the NFL but need more targets to go along side Foster and Johnson. Eifert is a big target with sure hands that would add another dimension to the offense with Owen Daniels.

28. Denver Broncos- Jordan Poyer (CB Oregon State)
Champ Bailey proved he is on his last legs against the Ravens and may be better suited for Safety. Poyer has the skill set to be shut down corner, especially under the tutelage Champ.

29. New England Patriots- Ezekiel Ansah (DE BYU)
Ansah has the tools but needs to develop the skills as a pass rusher to be dominate. Belicheck will put him in the right situations to grow, while adding a compliment to Chandler Jones for the future.

30. Atlanta Falcons- Sam Montgomery (DE LSU)
The Falcons not only need an end across from John Abraham, but someone to replace him in the future. Montgomery is the more polished LSU DE that will make a solid impact his rookie season.

31. Baltimore Ravens*- D.J. Fluker (OT Alabama)
After everything Bryant McKinnie went through this season, it is doubtful he will be back. They will need to protect their big investment in Flacco this offseason, and Fluker can play either side of the line in dominating fashion.

32. San Francisco 49ers*- Alex Okafor (OLB/DE Texas)
The most complete team in the league does not have many holes to fill, but they could use and edge rushers to go along with Aldon Smith. Okafor could also put on weight and possibly evolve into a 5-technique.

Okafor makes a little bit of sense for the niners, but they need olb depth, not really a starter. they have smith on one end, and brooks on the other, who just signed a contract extension and i believe was a second team all-pro this year. I'd be more surprised to see okafor picked there than i would a d-line pick, or possibly a wr/te (depending on who falls), or a safety.

I'm fine with the Te'o pick but in the second round NT Jesse Williams should be the selection. Then they could take S Swearinger in the third. I like Taylor and he's a guy that I like in the middle rounds however, Wheaton might be the better pick if Wallace leaves. He could replace his speed.

CHIEFS: Yes, that could happen. If Albert is resigned(big if, he wants to stay at LT). However, Albert in his 5 years as a Pro, to my knowledge, has not played a down in NFL as G. So, his Natural position is LT. Now, w/all that said, I like the Choice of Joeckel, whether Albert stays or not.
