I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself to you all. I am iPwn/pwny/50millionothernames. I will be the AFC North division's liaison for this version of FFMD.

Essentially, my job is to make sure your voice is heard. In years past, FFMD has sometimes come across as a having a bit of a totalitarianism sense to it, where some people have felt as though the moderation staff wasn't acting fairly with rules or wasn't listening to valid complaints. That's where I come in. Rather than voicing your complaint with the mods that are running FFMD, you will send all of those to me (a mod not running FFMD Wink ), and I'll make sure they get resolved, dealt with, or set up for future games in a fair manner.

Hopefully we never have to speak, but if there is something you need, don't hesitate to contact me.

- pwny

Okay guys, so first things first, the schedule that we have to uphere to. We're in the Super Bowl, so our offseason hasn't begun yet IRL... so this is sort of going to be sort of annoying/awkward to start off with. But here is the schedule that this FFMD is adhering to ATM. If it's changed later, I'll try and remember to update this post... or someone else can remind me.

Also you can click on the link/name to see the rules for this FFMD.

Here is the Ravens Cap as I see it with Ray Lewis retired and Birk retired/released:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AifIG4zYDHpHdDdkbnlZaG55NlU4UmY4eS1DY0x2YUE

If you have any problems viewing that let me know. This is how I see it but nothing is confirmed with regards FFMD.

Yeah, that looks about right.

I see you've already assumed that Birk will retire or be cut Laughing

I know I jumped the gun there, but I have to believe this is it for him. I also don't think we bring him back at that cap number anyway.

Thank you for posting this. I'll get our depth chart up by this afternoon definitely guys.

Hopefully I can get our staff filled by today as well. That way we can Begin discussing roster moves that we need to make this ffmd.

Just to get some things started...

Where does everyone think we should focus our energy resigning our own guys??

My small board ranks as this:
1. Flacco
2. Kruger
3. Ellerbe
4. McKinnie -- hear me out
5. Ed Reed

I know I'll probably upset a few by putting McKinnie over Ed, but McKinnie has been out best OT this late season. Much better than Oher has. . Compared to Ed Reed who has lost a little bit of a step. Too many missed tackles and a bad shoulder to be handing a multi year deal that he will command.

This would be my board...

1. Flacco
2. Ellerbe
3. Kruger
4. McKinnie
5. Ed Reed

IMO in order of need:

1) Re-sign Flacco
2) Figure out which tenders to give to our RFAs
3) Gain cap space (probably by re-structuring Suggs' contract which would give us nearly $3m in extra cap space)
4) Sign extension with Boldin to lower cap hit
5) Sign extension with Jacoby Jones to lower cap hit

6) re-sign whoever we can out of Kruger, Ellerbe, McKinnie & Reed

I'd imagine that Kruger will take about 8m/yr, Ellerbe 3m/yr, McKinnie 1m & Reed 7m+/year so I doubt Kruger and Reed could realistically fit under the cap

The first post of the free agency thread has been updated in case anybody wanted to use that as a reference for Baltimore's free agents. I think FFMD supplies the "official" list for the team in a few days though.

If I understand the concept correctly restructuring Suggs' contract would free up about $6.4 million in cap space this season (using Rotoworld as the source for his contract details. Of course that would add the same amount to next year's cap since he only has a year left on his deal after this season. Although for the purposes of FFMD that probably wouldn't make much of a difference.

I feel like the bidding for Kruger and Ellerbe is going to get out of hand and we won't be able to keep them. FFMD spending always gets ridiculous; people have known about Kruger as a pass rusher since about mid-season, and Ellerbe is starting to get alot more praise from non-Raven fans after people have been seeing him on a national stage in the playoffs. So we'll see, but I feel both could get pretty insane.

Same goes for Ed Reed. I think some team is going to bid a stupid amount of money for him just for the sake of having an all-time great like him who has so much respect and admiration from other teams.

Obviously we'll re-sign Joe.
