Take Bass or Fraley. Fraley is likely a guard at the next level but I'd be ok with it.

Bass if there is any chance of him be a viable rusher then we take the gamble.

Well, given that no one was here, I took the two positions of most value (OG and OLB) to us and literally flipped a coin. Came up pass-rusher, which is probably pretty good since Bass is the last pass-rusher on the board with potential starter's upside to him (at worst he's Barnes' replacement as it would take a lot to put me off drafting an OLB from next year's class given the incredibly depth at the top just from the seniors in the class).

So here's the lowdown on the newest Charger:

Quote:
Just like every year, a few small schoolers break onto the scene and perform very well on an equal playing field. Bass is one of these prospects, as he was the most consistent pass rusher at the East-West Shrine game. The senior broke two records during his final year at Missouri Western State breaking the school's career sack (39.5) and consecutive starts (50). When asked the one word to describe himself, Bass answered "beast".

David started all 50 games in 4 seasons for the Griffons, with 210 Tackles, 66.5 Tackles For Loss and holds the team record for most career Sacks with 40.5. He also added 20 Quarterback Hurries, 19 Pass Breakups, 3 Interceptions (1 for a Touchdown), 1 Forced Fumble and 1 Fumble Recovery to round out his career totals.

6'4" - 262 lbs - 33.5" arms - 10.5" hands - 4.84s 40-yard dash (was clocked in the 4.7's at the E/W Shrine practices though) - 1.67s 10-yard split

CBS Sports wrote:
Strengths: Good first step quickness and natural burst off the snap. Plays with springs in his legs with good vertical and lateral movements. Active hands to defeat blocks with good awareness to find the ballcarrier. Plays assignment-sound football and has developed his instincts. Motivated individual with an excellent competitive drive. Positive locker room presence with strong character on and off the field. Excellent career production with 39.5 sacks and 56 tackles for loss as a four-year starter.
Weaknesses: Room to refine his pass rush moves and hand technique to defeat blockers and shed. Allows his pads to rise off the snap and needs to show more consistent leverage. Some concerns about whether or not he is a hand on the ground end or stand up linebacker. All of his experience and production has come against Division-II level talent so level of competition is a question mark.

Quote:
During an Interview with College2Pro.com (see link above), David was asked:

What player might you resemble that's in the NFL?

Aldon Smith for sure. Same size pretty much, same height, same measurables.

Is there anything NFL scouts might miss about your play?

I would definitely say the defense I played in. I talked to a couple of scouts who thought I was lazy and didn't give forth much effort. However a lot of teams don't realize we played a gap control defense, a 4-3. My job was to post the tackle up and stay there.

Worth mentioning. The Jags no longer have Jordan Todman rostered. Could be a decent option to bring back as well. I still think that kid has/had potential, just was never given the chance to learn to pass-block before he was filched from us by Minnesota.

I would put in a bid for Khaled Holmes. Either our 6th or 7th.

A guy that i might try to scoop up with a 7th is Sean Renfree, but understandable if you dont want a QB. I like the Thornton pick. Holmes was never a guy that i really liked. A sleeper WR i like that would be interesting to scoop up is Mark Harrison from Rutgers.

mogblue, Duff, and JH21 have titles to make picks. Can one of you do it? I'm lost, and busy with homework.

I'd say Harrison or Mychal Rivera (a slighter, but still viable version of Aaron Hernandez) from Tennessee as an H-Back.

Any RBs we like? I know Jamison hasn't been bid on (at least I'm pretty sure?)
