Beast is going to be pissed if we don't resign him. Cason is one of those guys that in the right scheme would make a Revis like impact for a team. He'd be scary on the Colts and they have a ton of cap room. Probably worth like 7m a year. _________________

Revis tackles effectively - Cason doesn't. I admit that I do believe Cason gets a little bit of a bad rap because all but the best corners get beaten for big plays (and it's not like Cason is in William Gay territory), but I ask again what exactly is the difference between the Colts scheme and ours? From what I've seen on tape it's the same 5+ yard cushion, semi-zone (tons of Cover-1, though disguised to look like off-man) that Cason was underachieving in because he gets caught watching the backfield and doesn't make smart decisions in terms of reading routes or running receivers off them where legal.
Beast also isn't having to deal with the Raiders and the Chiefs running up the prices on everyone on a whim when they really only need to come out of FA with 1 player at each position, yet they're bidding up every single one of them. _________________

Gosder Cherilus is already at $4.85m. Don't think we want to go that high on him.
Got a minimum bid in on Dombro.
Any RB's we want? Do we want Brown back on a minimum deal? _________________

Consider this your guys' official warning to your GM and staff. If you're caught bidding solely to raise the contracts and then invalidating your bids, you'll be punished by having to sit out of the Shark Tank for an extended period of time and/or further punishments as deemed fit.

I wanted Matt Slauson, but now that two power-scheme teams have gotten into a "Who's is bigger?" contest over him (when he doesn't fit either of their blocking schemes well at all - which I find hilarious), I'm less interested.
Honestly, if we're going to bid on any RB, I'd prefer Justin Forsett (yes, I bring him up every FFMD) to Brown - younger version of what Ronnie offers at this point, but one who has already shown he can function running in zone.
Might not hurt to offer the minimum to Jammal Brown or Ryan Harris (or both) and see if they bite. One, or both, of them is likely to be bid up, but both have starting zone experience and are kind of "return from injury" fliers. Sean Locklear's another more "power" guy but has played in zone and could be a decent swing-tackle if had cheaply.
Brandon Moore might be a decent vet minimum stop-gap at RG - certainly can play in more zone-based scheme, he's just too undersized to go straight power like Sparano was asking him to do. _________________

I'd LOVE Felix Jones on our roster at the vet minimum. Stephen Jackson is at 1.1m right now and would bring a great skillset to the offense. _________________

To put it bluntly, why? The guy can't stay healthy and still can't pass-block effectively (and he's been in the league how many years?). Yes, I get... vet minimum. But there are about 5 or 6 guys I'd sooner invest the vet minimum in over him. Unfortunately I just don't see Felix as having the kind of vision to pull off the kind of turnaround that Reggie Bush did when switching from a power-blocking scheme to a zone-blocking scheme in terms of what was in front of him. _________________

He's the big play waiting to happen. As a change of pace back he's been productive, yes the injuries are a concern but when healthy he is a threat.
Floyd, Gates, Alexander, Brown, Matthews... There is no scary speed threat on our roster right now. Maybe my memory is clouded by college highlights but I've been a Felix Jones fan for quite a bit.
New offense under whiz. I don't think he uses backs to block as much as Norv did. At least judging by the crap blocking ability of 'zona running backs. _________________

I threw an opening bid down on Steven Jackson. The Raiders are in on the bidding, so it will be a double victory to out bid them. _________________
