Not to say I don't like Garay, but I think anything we can get for him is a bonus. His 5m needs to go, and if we can grab an extra pick to get rid of it then I'm on board. |
Pretty much agree. I'd even be open (mind you this is just me) to just satisfying a depth need if the trade frees up a fair chunk of the cap space (i.e. the money-commitment brought back isn't near the size of what's sent with Garay).
I'd love to do an Ivory for Garay swap. Maybe Eric Olsen as a depth ZBS-experienced (and formerly having worked under McCoy) interior OL and a 7th. Zach Strief might not be a bad option to look at as a player for player swap as we'd gain a stop-gap starter at RT and still free up $3 million in cap space. |
McCoy didn't like him enough to keep him longer than an offseason. _________________

We absolutely need to deal Garay to the Saints. Not only will we free up some cap space but it reduces the number of teams that will pursue Franklin. Worst case scenario Babyzilla needs to step it up. _________________

Why is Greer on the block and yet they have CB as a need listed? _________________

Either it was a accident or they really don't like him, not sure which is which. |

Zach Strief. We need a RT and he is relatively cheap ($2.3m) |

Sent a PM to the Saints GM seeing if they're interested in Garay. I'll report back. _________________

Honestly think this may be the best deal. We still get some cap-relief. We can then either flip Clary if we can get something worthwhile for him or send his butt packing.
And we can look to sink a Day 3 or so pick into a developmental RT to bring up behind Strief (who has this one year left on his contract). _________________

Sorry but not interested in Garay for a 4th rounder... His cap hit of 5 million is way to high for us and trading a 4th rounder (or equal player) for a second or maybe even third string NT is to much.
Some comments even sound like you might consider cutting him! |

Get out of here you little spy.
(Hint, there is a connection to my username and this guys location)
I like the way we keep the discussion in the war room visible for everyone, that is the way it should be and the way it was when I joined this site, not this code and pm-thing that has evolved in the last years. _________________

I'm just too lazy to think of something creative. _________________

Exactly. Its easy to code the draft, but free agency and rosters is tough _________________

Where did the idea of a 4th rounder come from? _________________

I personally despise codes for FFMD completely. The year we got really gungho about it my participation dropped to almost nil. The vast majority of the time I spend on here is from my phone at work. I don't have the inclination to go back and forth on browsers. No codes means we're accessible to everyone and that is something I would like to continue. If we miss out on a trade because of internal discussion then so be it. At least we are playing by the rules. _________________
