I'd pitch to Grimes in tier 1, but with specific comparisons.
Baker and Miller in tier 2 - I'd be happy to write those if requested.
And I might toss out a prove-it deal to Knighton.
That'd be it for me. _________________

Bolded are guys I think we should pitch to. |
In red are the ones we should aggressively go after. Bolded are the ones that should be treated as consolation if we don't get our top picks.
1. Sam Baker
2. Dwight Freeney
3. Heath Miller
4. Brent Grimes
Didn't Knighton get benched this year? _________________

Me too.
I think to get a reliable TE and Pot Roast to beef things up on the DL we could do wonders in the draft. Really think we should make a bunch of offers though and hope one sticks for way under the market price. _________________

Why no love for Cliff Avril guys?
Also, Grimes hasn't stated his value just yet. When he does, I'm sure we'll be thinking he's worth less... _________________

Avril is terrible against the run and a big bust candidate. I don't think he will be worth the money he is commanding. _________________

I'm really just not for the 1-2 year wonders. I bought into Ray Edwards and he sucked. That's why I want a consistent guy like Freeney over Avril and take a guy in the draft. _________________

Avril is one of the premier defenders in the FA market so I assume alot of a teams will be targeting. It may go way out of our wallet. _________________

If we could keep his first year cap hit to say, 7M, would everyone be willing to go for it? _________________

I'm against Avril and Kuger. Kuger is another one year wonder, and I remember Ravens fans complaining about him in previous seasons.
I think the way to go would be to offer Freeney a reasonable contract and draft a DE in the first two rounds. _________________

Well then... he wants Robinson money... we can actually afford that if you guys are up for it. _________________
