Both Kruger and Spencer want at least 9.3M million yearly average. Given the tendency of overpay in FFMD, they will probably get close to the max allowable deal of 11.2M. I don't think there is any way to make that fit into our capspace. Sorry.

If we signed spencer we would start him and have the other two battle it out

I think we are gonna make an offer but it's gonn have to be a low one that probably won't win, but we will give it a try

Kool! Sent you a potential list of Shark Tank targets... I will be around a lot over the next few days (no courses to teach on Thu - Sun) so I am willing to help with Shark Tank targets.

BUT, I think only GM & AGM are allowed to place bids IIRC

I bow down to PastorDillon and whoever helped with the pitch for Spencer. I thought we had no shot at him specially when we offered less than Barwin got.

Anthony Spencer has agreed terms with:

Contract

5 year contract worth $37.5 million, $10 million in signing bonus with the first and second year salary guaranteed for a total guarantee of $18.8 million

Year 1: 4.1 million salary, 2 million SB, Cap Hit = 6.1 million
Year 2: 4.7 million salary, 2 million SB, Cap Hit = 6.7 million
Year 3: 5.4 million salary, 2 million SB, Cap Hit = 7.4 million
Year 4: 6.2 million salary, 2 Million SB, Cap Hit = 8.2 million
Year 5: 7.1 million salary, 2 million SB, Cap Hit = 9.1 million

The major selling point for Houston was the fact that they are a strong contender in the AFC and Anthony is well used to their defensive system having spent the majority of his career with his new DC Wade Phillips during his tenure as Dallas HC.

The spreadhseet has been updated. We have ~$1.4M in capspace available with draft picks taken into account. If we cut Walter we get a Net cap gain of $3M. For all shark tank contracts, their net cap hit will be reduced by 480K due to the rule of 51.

Must have been my last paragraph

I truly believe that person or athlete has a future unless they have dreams that are bigger than their memories. Over your career you have made big plays, made some money, won some games, and made tons of memories. Today i simply ask you to dream big, and dream with the Texans. Catch ahold of our vision of greatness and be willing to sign for a little less to ensure that we can make history together!!

We are going to cut Kevin Walter

Cut Cap Hit: 0
Savings: $3,500,000
Old Total Cap Room: $709,405
New Total Cap Room: $4,209,405
New Rule of 51 Cap :$5,424,405

we need about a million to sign our draft picks, so we have about 4 million to spend in the shark tank, and we know we want to go after Casey as long as he doesnt cost too much money

here is the big question i want us to discuss: Now that we have Spencer, do we want to move Brooks inside and be set up pretty good with Brooks and Cushing or do we leave Brooks outside and let Mercilus roam as a 3rd OLB

or

Do we market Mercilus or Brooks for a 1st round pick
