So the cap room carry over is in the real NFL or from last year's FFMD?
Either way, almost $20 mil in room, plus some more cuts, we can do some serious work in FA this season. |
Real NFL. Part of the new CBA allowed team's to carry over 2012 cap room into 2013. It's why a team like Jacksonville has 32.5 million.
Sidenote: Indianapolis has roughly $51 million in cap space.

Apparently restructures don't need to be approved, which means that everyone is simply taking advantage of that by taking their highest paid players and knocking them down to the vet. minimum to take a ton of money off their current cap.
If we were to go that route, we might as well restructure CJ and McCourty in order to save another $15 million in cap room, however I'd also prefer to not take advantage of the system and abandon any sense of realism.

I need my head coach to state what system the team will be running. I got to start marking what players fit into his system and what players I need to go after. I will make a full player personnel report within 24 hours, but I need to know the exact system the head coach expects to run.
For now here is a quick list of team needs according to me, the VP of player personnel (in no particular order):
Wide Receiver
Interior Offensive Line
Pass Rusher
Cornerback
Safety

He certainly deserves a contract extension, but I don't think that should be high on our priority list.
