I don't know why that rule was added and everyone in the shark tank gets overpaid, and we need to save our remaining cap space for our rookies. |
So people can't unrealistically backload the contract like Brees and Porter in last years FFMD. |
I mean those were bad, but I believe they should just be judgement calls by the guys running it. This 15% rule essentially took half of the teams in FFMD out of the picture in the big free agent thing. |
Having those rules takes out subjectivity.
Any bit of subjectivity creates places where people can complain and threaten to quit FFMD. It's just easier to make 1 set of rules and make everyone follow them.
If people would quit whining, things could get more realistic. It would be awesome, but won't happen because everyone thinks the FFMD staff is out to ruin their season. _________________

Yeah its just lame when we basically had no shot at any of the big free agents, especially when back-loaded contracts are common in the NFL. _________________

I like those signings. They give us good depth and after the Strief trade is officiall, we still have enough cap room to sign our rookies! |

Consider this your guys' official warning to your GM and staff. If you're caught bidding solely to raise the contracts and then invalidating your bids, you'll be punished by having to sit out of the Shark Tank for an extended period of time and/or further punishments as deemed fit.

| Yeah our first rounder costs us $2.6 million and all our other draft picks have a cap hit of $600k or less, so due to the rule of '51 cap they cost us under 200k! Should be able to sign all of them, maybe we have to cut one or two! |

I wouldn't want to cut any of our rookies. If anything, we should cut some of those PS scrubs that will never touch the field. _________________

Those PS guys doesn't really matter due to the rule of '51. Pretty sure we could sign all of our draft picks without releasing anyone. Will make an exact calculation as soon as the numbers for all draft picks are out!
Edit: After our first three picks (1st,3rd,4th) we would be $926,884 under the cap. The other three picks (5th,6th,7th) would only cost us the rookie minimum and therefore doesn't matter for the rule of '51 cap room! |
