DT Tommy Kelly would fit your RDE position well if you are looking to upgrade in the immediate. We are asking for a 5th round pick. _________________

No thanks....32 years old, bad contract regardless of restructuring, injury history... _________________

Sorry, I am late to the game. I like the webster deal and am glad we didn't do a lot of the other offers.
As I was cruising around working on getting up to speed, I saw that the Ravens have Mt. Cody on their trade block. They want a 3rd, but I would be interested at a 4th.
Any thoughts on possibly going after Cody? _________________

Not really. We're already short on picks. I don't want to deal one for a guy who can barely crack the rotation. I think we should only deal picks at this point for high impact players. _________________

His contract hit is 6.5 mill which will seem cheap in the open FFMD, he plays at a near probowl level. And doesn't have an injury history. Has started something along the lines of 16 games every season the past 5 seasons. _________________

Vontae's current contract has 1yr $1,136,250
New Deal:
5yr 42m. $7.5m SB(including $5m roster bonus in 2014):
2013:$2m base, $1.5m SB, $3.5m cap hit
2014:$7m base, $1.5m SB, $5m RB, $13.5m cap hit
2015:$9m base, $1.5m SB, $10.5m cap hit
2016:$6m base, $1.5m SB, $7.5m cap hit
2017:$6m base, $1,5m SB, $7.5m cap hit
I think this is a very good offer! What does everyone think?
We pay him $2m this year but lock him up with a nice contract offer!
I will be leaving to go out of town tomorrow morning, I will try and get on between then and Thursday night when I get home!
If this is a contract you guys like we would just need a write up with reasoning he would want to stay in Indy!! |
It looks like extensions are starting to be posted. So maybe we should vote on this. I vote YES. _________________

I vote yes. I'll be honest, I know all of you are smart and I trust your decisions so even if I'm not on to vote you can put me with the majority. _________________

If someone could write a pitch to go with Davis' offer that would be great. I'm not going to have time until tomorrow to write anything up. _________________

I'll write one and send it to everyone to see if we like it and what could potentially be changed. If someone else feels like writing a pitch I wouldn't mind using theirs as a base and deciding how to make it better from there. _________________

I'm not going to argue that deal for Vontae. He is a must sign for the Colts at this point. I feel very confident with him moving forward, and with the great depth that this team could have heading into next year at corner. _________________ Building The Monster |
