Also wondering if anyone can explain this rule of 51 I keep see everywhere. Thanks | I'm good with these.
The rule of 51 is that only the largest 51 contracts count against the cap. So even though you have a 53 man roster and 8 practice squad guys not all count against the cap. |

Was looking over the spreadsheet and noticed Saunders ($1.333.00) and Nevis ($274,556.00) had guaranteed money. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think we are responsible for that. _________________

Alright, solid move folks, and it is nice to add another CB.
Nevis just didn't fit, and I guess the same can be said for Saunders. I've always thought Saunders could have some potential if utilized in the right offense, but with Fleener and Allen, it wasn't going to be in Indy. _________________ Building The Monster |

So with this trade I'm assuming we are closing the door on the Asomugha trade. _________________

Got this from the Saints. I told him we didn't have a 2nd. He wanted to know if we had an interest in Roman.

I also asked about the availability of Colston, Evans and Grubbs. _________________

I would be completely ok with giving up our first for Evans or Grubbs. Actually, ok maybe only Evans. No to that deal No value at all for us and even if we had a second rounder, moving up 9 spots does not equal Roman Harper and a giving up a second rounder when ther is so much depth at positions of need.
I'm completely over the Aso trade. They can try to trade him to another team and get some value for him. If they bluff, I'm down for trying to scoop him up in FA. _________________

Any objections to this before I post it? I'll give everyone a few hours before I do. Also everyone seems to be against the Aso trade and we have acquired a good #2 in Webster, feeling pretty good about our secondary besides SS. Finally how are we feeling about Angerer? Keep him or trade him draft picks. Ware's still an option but I have a feeling they won't back down from their high demands and at this point it would just be better to build the rest of our team through free agency and the draft. _________________

I agree with Aso. As for Roman, I'm not a fan. I would rather keep our draft pick(s) and ride out Zibby. Also we need to start thinking about who we are going to resign before free agency hits. I say either Butler or Moala ( leaning more to Moala since we now have Webster).
VCP can you post the Tags and Tenders. _________________

Maybe we should start putting together a target list of FA. That way we can get a better idea of any position we might need to swing a trade for. _________________

I'm ok with the tenders, etc.
No to Aso trade.
It's whatever. If we can get Ware, I'm happy but if they're going to demand insane returns, then no. It's foolish and a waste of time trying to pursue a team/player that wants way too much. Plus, look at his salary:
Base/Bonus/Misc./Cap Hit
2012 825,000 5,303,000 1,418,750 7,546,750
2013 5,500,000 5,303,000 1,418,750 12,221,750
2014 12,250,000 1,303,000 1,418,750 14,971,750
2015 13,750,000 1,303,000 1,418,750 16,471,75
Those are insane numbers as he's getitng up there in age. Even with a restructure, we'd still be using up a decent amount of cap space. I'd rather use that money (his cap hit would be around 10m if my off the top of head calculations are right) and pay a little more to get a younger elite guy.
I think sticking with the draft, and picking up guys who can fit our system without breaking the bank and are under 30, is the way to go. We saw recently how Freeney, Brackett, Clark, etc. were all cap burdens and were aging. We are a young team that is still rebuilding, regardless of our record. We do not need to bring in high paid vets. _________________

I'll post the tenders now. Also I'll be creating codes for free agents and prospects and sending them to everyone. _________________
