I do not know why we would sign any of the RFAs and ERFAs when we know most them will be cut almost immediately anyways. I understand wanting flexibility, but those guys don't help us any more than an udfa would.... Yount the long snapper would be the only one I would even consider.

As far as the FAs, Dawson I agree should be resigned - highest paid kicker in the league - but the rest should all walk....

I'd sign them b/c we don't know what will or won't happen. Some other bottom of the barrel players need cut first.

Jordan has shown to be a great slot receiver. Just needs to stay healthy. He's has outstanding hands.

Stephens has shown some pretty good pass rush potential, I have no problem giving him a shot for a backup pass rush role.

Ogby has shown good flashes of being a all around back. He deserves to stay. And RB isn't a need at all, starter or depth, so why make it an issue?

Since we are cool about FA.

I'd like to throw out some names i would die to have.

I'm assuming a lot of big names get re-signed, but the following are ones i'm interested in.

1. Paul Krguer

2. Maretlius Bennett

3. Derek Cox

4. Which ever big name FS we think is best

5. One of Jennings, Bowe or Hartline

I think all are doable and we would fill every forseeable hole before the draft so we are not bogged down.

My biggest problem with Kruger, is he plays almost exclusively on the left side. We need a right OLB.

I don't see why that would prevent him from lining up on the right here?

There are 4-5 top OLB prospects we should keep our eyes on...

This is a terrible idea.

I'd give Wilson a 5th round value. That trade would give him a high third round value. He's not that bad, he's just not that good at anything either. And with the plethora or CB's in FA, its a bad idea.

Most people want a change of pace back from last time it was mentioned earlier in this thread. Ogby is a blocker on passing downs... ALL the RBs should be able to do that.

Stephens has ONE sack in 19 games... He is camp fodder. There are already too many LBs on the team and we have to cut some.

Jordan and MoMass are the same argument. If they can't stay healthy why are they on the team? Keeping them would be easier.... But that is the only reason I can see to try and resign them.

This is a bit narrow minded.

Stephens had 70 snaps this year rushing the passer. Not 19 games.

He had
1 sack
8 hurries.

Thats a ratio that puts him 16th best in the league for 43 DE's. And that was also primarily from the right side as well.

I think your view is more narrow than mine... I'm looking at his entire career, your looking at 70 snaps.

Question

OK, so here are Wilsons' stats

snaps- 966
% catches allowed- 54.8%
YAC/ Rec- 21.1
TD- 2
INT-1
PD- 3
MT- 5
Pen- 5

He's not bad, but he's not good. He's definitely not worth a 3rd round pick.

Too bad.... We would basically be getting him in HOPES that he improves... That is going to be a tough sell.

Question

fair enough, I gave you his numbers for this year, so here's 2011

he had 50 snaps rushing, with 3 pressures, not a good ratio.

He had zero snaps in 2010.

But still. He improved in year two before being put on I.R.

I think he deserves a chance to show his worth. Worst case we cut him and take half his salary in a cap it. no biggie.

Yep.

Although Horton > Rex.

Still tough sell

-I'll put together a WR list over the weekend. That one will take some time since there are so many to deal with.

-Thanks Reg for the spreadsheet, looks great

- What is the asking price for Pettigrew?
