Hell i dont want either one.

We have a pitch in for Knighton, and if he chooses us then we aren't going to pursue Dorsey. We need to do something about our NT situation, there are reailistically 2 or 3 guys taht would solve our problem in the draft and maybe 1 in the shark tank if we're lucky. These 2 guys are young, relatively cheap, and have starting experience and some skill, it's better than rest on our laurels and going all in for the draft and wishing for some luck.

Knighton re-signed with the Jags. Dorsey wants about $4.5M a year.

That's not terrible, wish it was a little less but good enough to still give it a go. How much do we have in cap space?

Jags: Terrance Knighton

Quote:
Terrance Knighton
Defensive Tackle
5 years $24 million with $10 Million guaranteed
2013: 2.8 base, 2m SB - 4.8 million cap hit
2014: 2.8 base, 2m SB - 4.8 million cap hit
2015: 2.8 base, 2m SB - 4.8 million cap hit
2016: 2.8 base, 2m SB - 4.8 million cap hit
2017: 2.8 base, 2m SB - 4.8 million cap hit

Knighton would like to thank all the teams that made him offers. It was narrowed down to five choices: Texans, Broncos, Eagles, Giants and Jags

Who's writing the pitch for Dorsey? I'm busy all day, and considering I've already struck out twice someone else might be better suited for this one

Dorsey can play NT, right? I just can't remember clearly, if he can't then there is no reason for us to go after him if all he's gonna do is back up K-Will

No, Dorsey would be a penetrating 3-technique that would rotate in with Kevin Williams/Christian Ballard.

I'm not highly interested in him, but it appears others are.

I'm not very interested, no need to spend that kind money on a rotational guy IMO

Then there's no reason to go after him when we already have 2 UT's that specialize in pass rushing, especially since there are guys like Roy Miller or Sione Pouha in the shark tank that would be cheaper and would actually start at a position of need.

Works for me. I feel it falls in line with what we will actually do.

Did we cut Guion? I wanna say we did but I just wanna make sure, because we may not need a starter at NT, I'm fine with rotating someone with Fred Evans, seeing as how he did a great job down the stretch and he has been a good contributor for a few years.
