| Quote: | | I recently came across some news surrounding the 49ers 2010 first round draft picks. There have been some changes to the 2014 salaries of Anthony Davis, and Mike Iupati. Davis saw his 2014 base salary lowered to $600,000, giving up him a new base salary of $1,073,600. Iupati will see his 2014 base salary increase by $300,000 to $1,600,500. Below are the updated cap figures for both players. |
300000 more in cap room, in theory. _________________

Now that all of our re-signings are out of the way we can start looking for FA's to sign. We only have 6 mil in cap room so we need to be smart about it. We're most likely going to have to look for league minimum back up guys and focus the majority of our remaining cap on the draft.
In FA I want to look at the following:
3rd string QB
depth WR
Backup OT that can play guard too
Kicker |
I think the only one of the bunch you listed I would try to acquire Via free agency is the QB. I don't think there is a single QB in this draft class who could run the pistol O. Maybe Seneca Wallace would be cheap. Just my opinion. |
I disagree I think EJ Manuel, Matt Scott (Arizona), Tino Sunseri (PITT), Jordan Rodgers (VAND), and Jeff Tuel (WSU) are all guys I could see fitting in our offense. |
this guy is so terrible. i watched a few of his games.
no way he makes an nfl roster. he is garbage bad |
EJ Manuel is probably the best of the bunch but is not ready to step onto a NFL field "right now". The rest of the guys you mentioned are projects. I assumed when you said a backup QB you meant a #2 not a #3. My mistake I read # 3 after the fact. _________________

EJ is my favorite QB in the draft, for our team that is. _________________

Same here. He needs a lot of coaching, but physically EJ has everything you could ask for. We wpuld be a perfect situation for him _________________

I think next years draft and the one after will have a lot more QBs that have similar skills to Kaeps. Logan Thomas, Tajh Boyd, Keith Price, Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater, Talor Martinez, Braxton Miller, Jeff Driskel, Marcus Mariotta... _________________

I'd like one of the rookies personally but that is a bargain _________________

Consider this your guys' official warning to your GM and staff. If you're caught bidding solely to raise the contracts and then invalidating your bids, you'll be punished by having to sit out of the Shark Tank for an extended period of time and/or further punishments as deemed fit.

I'll be out of town this weekend. So I'll try to give my input if possible but I can't promise I'll be around _________________

Cool.
As I look again, the Falcons pick right in front of us early Friday night. I will be able to make the pick late in that night (from say 1 a.m.- 4 a.m. CT ), as long as we all come to an agreement on the choice. We end up waiting till morning? and forget it... I'll be passed out on the floor in a pool of my own fluids. _________________
