Baalke has been pretty spot on with all the lineman he's drafted I think we should give kilgore a shot. He's kinda like the RJF of the offense _________________

Are you guys interested in Antonio Cromartie? We are listening to offers for him and I figured you guys might be interested because J-ALL-DAY was posting in the Jet Forum recently about Cro. _________________

I've spoken to a few different people within the Jets FFMD war room and no deal was reached. While Cromartie is an attractive addition, his price tag is too high and we just dont have the cap room right now. _________________

If its anything like the other mocks, it will be difficult to move him. I was only able to get a 5th for him. _________________

So according to our spreadsheet, these passed through, and this is where we currently stand...
current 49ers cap = 4.058.920
The 49ers release QB Alex Smith
cap hit = 0
cap gain = 9.75 million
Cap room as of now = 13.80892 million
Restructures:
(1) DL / Justin Smith
At age 34 in September... being the team player Justin is.. and loving the 49ers as he does.. I think Justin will happily agree to this to get the lengthened job security he wants. Justin will want more SuperBowls.. and will not want to look for a job elsewhere.
current contract = (1 yr)
- 7.5 mil base, 1.833.333 SB, .500 other, total = 9.833.333 mil
new contract = (3 yrs)
- 2013 - 2 mil base(guaranteed), 4.833.333 mil SB = 6.833.333 mil
- 2014 - 3 mil base(guaranteed), 3 mil SB = 6 mil
- 2015 - 4 mil base, 3 mil SB = 7 mil
new cap room = 16.80892 million
Resign :
DL / Ricky Jean-Francois
So far, Ricky Jean-Francois has been a rotating DL that had a hard time stealing away playing time from our 3 DL starters. Well, no longer. After averaging 400K over the last 4 years, this promotion to starting NT and the boost in pay should put a big smile on his face. RJF smells a SuperBowl team and loves working with one of the best DL coaches in Tomsula. He gets an offer to be "the man in the middle" vs starting over somewhere else.
3 year, 10.5 mil contract w/ 7.5 of it guaranteed
2013 - 2 mil base / 1 mil SB (all guaranteed)
2014 - 2.5 mil base / 1 mil SB (all guaranteed)
2015 - 3 mil base / 1 mil SB

No one wanted to take on his contract. Everyone knew we had cap issues and were gonna have to release him into FA anyway. _________________

Oh well, didn't expect anything out of him in FFMD. So 13M in cap space, how much needs to be set back for rookies? _________________

I'd say about 5 or 6 million... which is pretty much all that is left once Goldson's 7.7 mil F-tag gets accounted for. Can honestly say, I am HAPPY to completely avoid the hot mess that will be FFMD free agency. _________________
