Tempting for the sake of FFMD. We can get a guy like Mingo with that pick but it is a risk. It would be more fun to make that trade and make more picks but it's not realistic.

With that I agree out defense was so good because of the line. Carlos creates so much for others despite his 6 sacks. I don't know if it would be worth it at all. But it would give us another pick in this

See the thing is Mingo is an unknown, unlike Dunlap who is proven commodity. And I love Mingo, top seven prospect in this class, elite prospect although he's a 4-3 SLB not a 4-3 DE if you ask me. No way he's available with that late round one pick.

DE's are gonna fall. Tank Carradine and Michael Buchanan are first round caliber players who in FFMD, I think will be around at our third round pick. Not as much depth at DE in the later rounds, but if we take one within the first four rounds (ideally within the late 2-early four range) we will get a quality player.

If im correct MJ93's salary for 2013 will be 8.5million, due to us prorating the SB over 4 years and not 5

I'm not a fan of the last year of his contract. It looks completely voidable. I would equal out his base salaries a little bit more over the 6 years. Also throw in another $2M overall, so it would be a 6 year/$63M contract and $10.5M average per year...

That looks good. Personally I would make him the highest paid DT in NFL history but that looks good as well... Laughing

I don't doubt that would be accepted but it seems like overpaying to me. Geno isn't a free agent and can be kept for 3 years via tags for a third of the total value of that deal. Does anyone think that if Suh, McCoy, or Ngata were free agents they would be able to get the deals they currently enjoy? Or that the teams will fulfill their current deals? I don't, paying 12-17 mil per year for a DT is too much when MVPs like Aaron Rodgers or Adrian Peterson go for less. Geno is a great DT but the deal should make sense for both sides. We offered Geno 50 mil for 5 years with a 20 mil signing bonus. Since we plan to keep him, why not simply guarantee more of the total amount without raising it? That basically shifts the injury risk from the player to the team.

I know this is not the real world, but as much as I love what Atkins brings for us, in the real world, does his sickle-cell condition have any medical implications long term ?

Anyone looking for current cap numbers for all teams can use a link in Scar's sig. He posts frequently in the FFMD mock thread and is a Falcon's fan.

I got all my numbers from there. But when I filled it out he hadn't included MJ's contract, Devin Hester and Andre Smith. Looking now he has Hester on there but not MJ and Andre. So I just placed in one spot on here and included their contracts.
