Don't expect the Hawks to pick up anyone big. Their method of FA is to wait and see which players don't develop a market. That's how we got Zach Miller (a market didn't develop for him), Alan Branch, Robert Gallery, Sidney Rice (OK maybe not Rice, but we really needed him), ect. Our FO love to save money so we aren't gonna sign some guy to a mega deal on FA, thank god. I'd rather use that money to extend guys like Earl, Sherm, Russell (both of them), and Kam. _________________ [quote="aceinthehouse"]

Will he be in high demand?
And honestly our guard situation isn't that bad. JR Sweezy learns so fast I'll bet he'll be a starter next year, and Carpenter should start at LG. I'm a little more worried about DT. James Starks maybe? _________________ [quote="aceinthehouse"]

I think both are needs, but Levitre is a better G than any of the DTs available. _________________

When we really needed a guy, we wined and dined the hell out of him. In my book, we really need Levitre. _________________

I think a market won't develop for Glenn Dorsey more than it won't develop for Levitre, allowing us to get Dorsey on the cheap.
Plus, keep in mind Tatupu that one instance does not prove a rule, so just because they went after Rice agressively does not mean they are big spenders in FA, or overpay for guys.
Anyways, why else was our pass rush and run D so bad at the end of the year? At least we have some young guys at guard. The only young guys we have at DT are Jaye Howard, Scruggs, and Jason Jones, with Jones being injured entering FA. And Pete so far has seemed to like vets at DT more than young guys, so an FA there makes more sense than a freshly drafted rookie, or Branch, who I think isn't that good. _________________ [quote="aceinthehouse"]

I'm not saying it's a rule, I'm actually saying it isn't one. Meaning just because we haven't spent big in the past often (which is fairly false considering what we paid Branch, Jones, Rice, and Miller) doesn't mean we wont this offseason. _________________

Levitre would fix a lot of problems. Our history of drafting guards has been somewhat shaky, and I don't wanna see us waste another 1st round pick on an average OG. _________________
