February 23rd- 8:00 AM- Draft Begins |
Here are the positions that you can apply for:
Assistant General Manager - My second in command, you get to look around for trade offers. You can also make bids and basically be my minion. It's a fun job!
Capologist - You make sure that we can make all moves within our cap space requirements. I'm also going to give you other roles vis-a-vis deciding which tier of players to target at a given position.
Head Coach - You will help dictate our scheme going forward and monitor how we utilize all of our players. You will also have a lot of say in the War Room and in the Free Agency threads.
Director of Media Relations - You will work with the writers, conduct interviews on behalf of the team, and be our sort of public face. I will also give you permission to make a Twitter account (on actual Twitter) to make some fun messages for the people!
Director of Scouting - You'll get to organize the scouts, formulate a prospect board (and a fun prospect code), and help in both PRO and COLLEGIATE scouting.
Regional and/or Positional Scouts - We can decide on this: would scouts prefer to be regional or positional? Regional means that you can watch more full games while doing the scouting work and it's probably a more realistic experience (plus it could help us find some interesting gems!) but positional scouting is a bit simpler and more typical. The regions can also be flexible (or conferences, like Big 10 scout, Big 12 scout, etc.)
Graphic Designer - I'm going to want someone to make sigs for everyone. It can be avant-garde (like 24isthelaw) or super cool. This can be done while also doing another position.
We can make other roles as we see fit, but this is what I want from you to start:
Username
First Choice Position
Second Choice Position
Regional or Positional Scouts?
Any Other Suggested Positions?
This should be awesome guys - let's kill this! I'll update this post later when I have some time.

I'd like a shot at Assistant General Manager (first choice) or Director of Scouting (second choice).
Cheers

Wont be able to be that active of a participant. I was our acting GM last season, where we dominated & would have been super bowl favorites. That's my experience.
I would like to work as a consultant, primarily in pursuing & negotiating trades. Last year we nearly got a 2nd rounder for Brian Hoyer, and the year before, we almost got the 1st overall pick (which we would have used on AJ Green) for pick 28, a 2nd round pick, and one of our back up corners. The Panthers even agreed to until someone from the BEARS forum chined in with "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS DOING?" .
So yes. NBT would like to be a lead negotiator for trades. _________________

Can I make a run at Head Coach?
Scouting is a bit of an arduous task when you don't watch college football.
I wouldn't mind taking a stab at doing some media stuff too. _________________

SEC regional scout or DT/DE positional scout
Any role left over or needed of above is taken. I would love to participate in whatever way you (RAB) or others see fit. Thanks and hope to help _________________

This really just turns into everybody giving their opinions on everything. Some will have more specialized roles with greater responsibility, but it really works best as a consensus. The goal is to get everybody involved & for it to be a large forum bonding experience. _________________

Still looking for opinions on how to differentiate the scouts. What do you all think? _________________

I won't be helping a whole lot, at least not until the draft. It works out that the 10th to the 16th is the craziest week of my spring. _________________ Shut up, NBT |

Just a reminder: I have big plans for whomever decides to take the Capologist position. It's going to be awesome. _________________

Perhaps we could have positional scouts? I haven't been involved with this in years past, and I would like to do some scouting, but not a lot of it. Plus there's some positions I really don't have an eye for talent at. _________________

I think positional scouting would definitely be a lot more straight forward for people. Regional or conference scouting would require a ton of dedication of the scouts part. So I would vote positional.
That said, if that's what you decided. I'll throw my name in the ring for Wide Receiver scout. Want to do something different this year, have focused on the secondary in the past.
When we decide on a director of scouting, I'm willing to work with them as an assistant for pulling everything together, really enjoyed that position last year.

Positional Scouts? All kinds of positions, missionary a must.
In all seriousness, I would like to help, and will as much as I can, but with working offshore for a month at a time, I tend to pretty much spend all my time ashore (which is coming up next week) with the gf and family, and pretty much never on FF. I'll chime in as much as I can though, and when I get back I'm sure I'll be in the mix. |
