I would do the Vickers for Carder & 6th.
We have a value of a 6th as it is with Vickers on our Block. We save money and move McSurdy to FB. Carder gives us a back-up to Lee. Plus we bring back a Texas Boy.
Assumiung we re-sign Sims our LBer Unit would be:
Carter - Lee - Albright
Sims - Carder - Wilber
I am good with that. _________________

What makes you think McSurdy would be a competent FB, let alone a good one? _________________

We tried him out there at FB. It was listed as his secondary position in college. Will he be an All-Pro? Not likely but I would like to give him a shot. We don’t run a lot of I-Formations as it is. Tell me, for the amount we use Vickers, is his price tag worth it? Had we still had Obi-Wan I would be pushing so hard to move Vickers for him. _________________

Also, for transparencies sake, I was the one who first came up with trading the Rat for Carder and Rucker. I felt we would have landed two role players for one of our starters which would be beneficial given the switch. They didn’t want the deal, which is fine. But I still like Carder’s potential. _________________

My GM came up us saying you guys had talked about Tank Carder in a possible deal for Ratliff?
We're pretty much set on our DL, but how about Vickers for Carder?
I will need to discuss with the rest of my guys but a few of us were thinking it was a pretty fair swap. |
Carder in my mind has character issues and I do not want him on my staff. _________________

Oh?
I wasn't aware of any. What are they? And if this is true, then yes the deal is kind of dead for me. _________________

I am going to PM it to you because I don't want it to stir up conversation on here as it is against the rules. _________________

He's obviously not the same player he was years ago and injuries have made him less impactful, but he's still likely an upgrade to what we currently have. |
Honestly. No. I have zero interest in him.
Kenny Phillips is my #1 priority. |
Phillips will not leave the League.
I mean why would he want you people when he could have this:
Also come look for trades in the Watchtower if you people dare. |
is that all you guys have, a man with chest hair? Let me introduce you to some people..

Regarding the scouting reports, I've got 4 QBs done and ready to be typed up. I've sent one to Des. Should I post them in here for everyone?
And regarding the Vickers for Carder trade, I'd prefer to simply trade Vickers for a draft pick straight up. And I don't see what everyone else saw in his play last year to say he was worth his salary. He was pretty bad in my eyes. McSurdy could do a servicable job for much much cheaper. _________________

Zac Dysert - Quarterback, Miami (OH) Redhawks
Strengths:
• Throws well on the run
• Great escapability
• Ultra-quick release
• Above average pocket awareness
• Adequate arm strength to make all throws
• Able to make plays with legs
• Good size at 6’3’’ and 224 lbs
• Unbelievable work ethic and team first attitude
• A 4 year starter, improving TD-INT ratio each year
Weaknesses:
• Highly inconsistent accuracy
• Throws flat-footed too often, causing his throws to short hop his receivers
• Is aggressive almost to a fault, often throwing into double and triple coverage
• Tends to lock on to first read in progression
• Does not progress through reads well, often running too soon
• Level of competition
• Played in shotgun-heavy offense
Summary:
Dysert was one of my favorite Quarterbacks to evaluate. He no doubt has some troubling issues with his accuracy and reading through his progressions to name a few. Luckily, he wouldn’t be expected to start right away and would be able to hone these attributes with a year or two of NFL coaching. His improvement over his 4 years of starting is encouraging and shows that he is coachable and willing to improve. The player is willing to do anything to help the team win. In his Senior year of high school, he broke his throwing hand thumb and switched to WR and LB while recovering in order to help his team out in some way. Redshirted his first year at Miami (OH) and earned Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year. Has good intangibles and would thrive in a West Coast style offense in my opinion.
Draft Grade: 3rd Round
Keep in mind, I'm not submitting these as my rankings. I'll do those after my scouting reports are done. Dysert was just the first one I got to. Thoughts and opinions are encouraged. EJ Manuel, Geno Smith, and Ryan Nassib will be the next 3 up, hopefully by tomorrow evening. _________________
