Saturday has sped up the process. Saturday appeared on 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis on Friday and said that he would be retiring after Sunday’s game.

Yeah, he's a good dude. I can see him staying in the spotlight, either with a commentating gig or joining an NFL front office in some capacity.

Sucks losing a pro bowl player tho.

So that frees up some money then too, 3.75 mil I think. So we now have ten mil to spend.

On the real, I'm happy this happened. When Costas said Saturday took himself out, he came back saying that he still had some in the tank. Totally thought we would have had to cut him. He turned down a long term job with the Colts front office to do one year in Green Bay. Kind of feel sorry for him in that aspect. Glad we don't have his signing bonus against our cap, now.

I'm willing to bet the offer still stands. No bad blood between him and that organization, and he's a very intelligent man. He just had to get that last contending season out of his system.

Can't really fault a player for wanting to play, especially if he's still receiving offers. Class act.
