| I know its a bit of a long shot but Revis is on the trade block. The Jets are bound to want a lot for him but we do have Percy Harvin on our trade block. Winfield is aging and our pass D is and has been pretty bad the past few seasons. Do you guys think we could get a deal done or just look for DB help in the draft and free agency. Harvin for Revis? Yes, right now. Would have to redo some contracts, but yes. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

| im not saying harvin strait up for Revis but we could work him into the deal so we dont have to give up as much as say 2 1sts like we did for Jared Allen. But that move did work out nicely |

revis is not garnering two firsts.
one year of a cheap great receiver for one year of a super expensive great cornerback seems fair to me. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

Revis would be terrible in the Vikings' defensive scheme. The Vikings don't play enough M2M where Revis' success lies. He would suffer from the same issues that Darren Sharper did. _________________

What kind of issues did Sharper have? He got a third of his career 63 INT with us and he only played for four years with us. Personally I would take those kind of issues any day if the week especially in Sundays! _________________

Exactly we trade one primadona for another doesn't really make sense to me. _________________

What headaches?
Fine, then move to man to man....if healthy, Revis would improve this defense than any rookie. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

one problem. Frazier is our HC. I'm not in favor of trading for, and adding a contract that could put us in cap hell just to watch him be out of place. _________________

Sharper had 9 INTs in his first year with the Vikings under Tice. He only got 9 more combined in the following 3 years under Childress and the Cover-2...and he couldn't tackle a lick. He was an atrocious fit for the zone defense. The same would occur with Revis.
And in response to PCP, you don't change an entire defensive scheme to suit 1 player. Weren't you one of the people complaining because Childress was trying to force people to fit his scheme (especially along the offensive line)? Why recreate that scenario by bringing in Revis? _________________

In terms of not changing an entire defensive scheme to suit 1 player.
Perhaps, but there are more factors to consider.
I'm a proponent of having a scheme that is best suited to the personel.
Our front 4 scheme would stay the same.
We're entering a phase where we could see 2 new LBs very soon, our nickle CB retiring, and a new S needed.
For Argumentative sakes.
Revis / Cook
Greenway / LB / LB (Robinson part-time in the slot perhaps)
Smith / S
When you have potential uncertainty like the above with your personel, I would grab the best personel available (draft, FA, trades, etc) and work the system around them. _________________

Actually, does anyone know what percentage our defense used man-to-man this year? _________________

No way. Revis is going to want a big extension just like Harvin and we'll have to give up more than we would want to. There is no other offensive player in this league like Harvin and CB isnt THAT big of a need right now. No thanks _________________

I thought about u guys and the only things I will say is revis is a superior talent to harvin and you should pay him if we were to make a deal. The reason I say this is wouldn't it be nice to stone megatron and Marshall for 4 games. Build your defense around your players. Take away half of Aaron's field. Have an extra second to get to the qb. My team is not as close as we once were but you guys are on the doorstep and are below the cap. Pull the trigger. _________________
