2013: $8,000,000 salary + $2,400,000 remaining bonuses = $10,400,000 total cap hit
2014: $10,000,000 salary + $2,400,000 remaining bonuses = $12,400,000 total cap hit
2015: $11,500,000 salary + $1,000,000 remaining bonuses = $12,500,000 total cap hit
What do the Falcons save if they cut Dunta?
With post June 2nd designation, they save $8,000,000 in 2013, $9,000,000 in 2014 and $12,500,000 in 2015.
Without post June 2nd designation, they save $4,600,000 in 2013, $12,400,000 in 2014 and $12,500,000 in 2015.
It's time to let him go and use the money in future years for someone who is better. _________________

Been saying that he would be gone all season because of his cap number and the money we would save, and that a 1/2 rd CB was a need, even though no one else would realize it. _________________

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him go. I like the guy but not for that price. To go further on this subject I wouldn't mind seeing a house cleaning on the secondary. The only people I see worthy of a spot are McClain and Samuel.
I think Nolan needs to make a statement with this defense by bringing in guys he wants. _________________

what? Decoud and Moore are excellent. Or are you just talking corners? _________________

Maybe a restructure? I've grown to really like Dunta, and feel that Dunta, Asante, and McClain is an awesome combo. Do you guys think McClain could take over as a starter when these guys leave. _________________

Only time will tell with Mcclain. Id like to see Dunta restructure but i remember him doing that before last season _________________

I would not feel comfortable going into 2013 with McClain as the starter. There are tons of one year wonders at the CB spot. I would want another year of good play out of the nickle before he takes over.
Id personally love to draft a CB early, and bring in a vet(if we dont restructure Dunta). Have 4 potentially solid CBs, because Samuel is getting older, and he could continue to miss some time. _________________

I still think we should bring Grimey back.

I think cutting Dunta and re-signing Grimes is the best way to go about it _________________ formerly MadAtFalcons |

I'll miss him and his swag, but if this is true then we need to let him go and use the money to resign Moore and Grimes. I just hope Grimes doesn't ask for a ridiculous contract... I really will miss Dunta though, I like him a lot. _________________

Shoot. I'd give up two 1st rounders for Revis if we could handle him financially. _________________
