No, Revis is too slow. Think Demarcus Van Dyke and now you're doing it right. _________________

Revis is faster than Nnamdi Asomugha(and also better, but that's irrelevant), who the Raiders thought it would be a good idea to build a defense around. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |

Acting like this is a gigantic need is a little off, it's a luxury, but one that we're in a pretty good position to afford. Champ had one bad game.
Improving the safety position should rank higher in priority this offseason, but adding an elite corner and being able to afford his contract is a unique situation, and one we should take advantage of. |
Spot on.
Any news on the Revis front? Read somewhere right after Idzik broke the news that the Jets won't trade him before draft day. Have some of you heard that as well?
Also, in the wake of Ed Reed departing from Baltimore to sign elsewhere (not with us, I hope), I am just wondering whether Jairus Byrd would be a realistic option? |
Reed won't leave. He'll remain a Raven I bet.
Jairus Byrd will cost a ton of money. He's a premier FA, IMO. |
Byrd mentioned he wanted to remain a Bill (who knows why) so barring something major happening, I don't think we'll see him in orange and blue next year.
As for Reed leaving Baltimore, it's a long shot in my opinion, but I could see him going to New Orleans and becoming a Saint for the final years of his career. |

| On 102.3 in Denver, Les and Nalen were saying rumor is the Broncos are willing to trade the 28th pick and Dumerville for Revis. What are your thoughts? Dumerville's contract replace Revis to afford Revis. Allot to give up, but makes sense financially. |

I have said that all along. Doom is too expensive for what he does and cannot even beat one on one matchups on a relatively constant basis, leaving Von alone on that front. His heyday was in the 3-4. So the argument - unless I am missing some finer nuance - that offenses plan around both Elvis and Von and that this in turn enables Miller to experience some form of protection negligence which aids his pass rush is not valid. We'd still have to go after some form of replacement for Dumervil though, whether in FA or draft- something I think we can achieve. Cheaper one trick ponies like Freeney and Umenyiora are always a possibility. Carradine or Lemonier in the draft.
I would do it. _________________

I didn't miss anything, everyone always makes run of the Raiders for drafting players with high 40 times. And I'm not trying to discourage that. I just happen to have bashing Nnamdi Asomugha on my agenda. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |

That rumor made the rounds in the last couple days.

I doubt the Broncos will get Revis. Elway seems to have changed the team's policy of throwing big contracts at free agents (except for Manning, of course).
I think the 49ers are more likely to trade for Revis. SanFran has about 15 draft picks this year and will use them to get a few big pieces instead of many smaller impacts. |

| I dont see why the Jets would take on Doom's contract, but I would do that deal. I actually think that Doom would make the Jets less likely to do the deal. |

#28 and Dumervil for Revis would be awesome.
I don't see it happening though. Everything indicates that the Jets want to improve their salary situation. Trading for Dumervil wouldn't make any sense for the Jets, IMO. |

I don't see this happening. If any of you had a chance to watch the John Elway interview on the NFL Network a couple days back he said he was looking for guys looking to win Championships not make money, and Revis is looking for money.
But then again, Elway contradicts himself at times. |

The Jets cap situation wont let them take on Dooms contract. He would have to restructure or we would have to take on one of their terrible contracts. _________________
