Word on the street says Jets are seriously looking into trading Revis.
Soooo..
Are any of you interested?
Maybe #1 Overall for Revis, #9 overall, and the Jets 3rd round pick?
Or is that asking too much? _________________

Jets 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Revis. And maybe we start talking. _________________ [quote="aceinthehouse"]I personally do NOT think Lewis is the Greatest MLBer ever.

A 7th for Revis and Tebow for the rest of the football year should get it done. |

Unless there's an issue with him I haven't heard about, I'd probably be ok with a swap of 1sts. Maybe swap 4ths or something to make it a little better for them. _________________

We cut Cassel, restructure T-Jack and sign Revis for four-five years, our cap is in the same state methinks. _________________ [quote="aceinthehouse"]I personally do NOT think Lewis is the Greatest MLBer ever.

True but we need to get Bowe, Albert, Colquitt and Gafford resigned asap IMO. Plus I'd like to see Houston, Pitotua, Jackson, Arenas, Asamoah and Hudson get new deals. That's before free agency and draft picks. _________________

We have cap space. Remember we rolled over cap space from 2 years ago, we can "in theory" be over the cap for next year so we can take a large cap hit for Albert and Revis then make Bowes a contract that is more spread out.
Everyone else (other than Houston) should be realtivly cheap. The tough thing is Houston will be resigning when Hali is closer to the end of his deal. If there is a large cap hit for Hali we might need to cut Hali or force him to restructure.
I love the idea and I would do it for a simple swap of picks. Moving back to 9 would allow us to not "reach" for our QB, and we pick up the best CB in the game to pair with Flowers. Our defense would immediatly become one of the best in the NFL (4 current pro bowlers plus a guy who would have been if he didn't get injuried). _________________

What I would have done.
1) Fisher, 3a) Keenan Allen, 3b) Shamarko Thomas, 4) Nico Johnson, 5) Stepfan Taylor, 6a) Nick Kasa, 6b) Taylor Bray, 7) Joe Kruger |

Contract Holdouts: Red flag
Torn ACL: Red flag
Unrestricted after this season: Red flag
Wants $60M guaranteed: Red flag
Wants $10M per season: Red flag
Jets want to move him rather than negotiate again: Red flag
This would never happen. _________________

In terms of value, I would do it for a swap of the 1sts and a 4th.
Now salary cap wise it would be rough. We'd almost have to let Bowe or Albert go, but with Revis it puts less emphasis on resigning Arenas. If this were to happen the only big contracts left are Houston and Bowe/Albert. Houston amd Asamoah could be had for 2-3 mil a year IMO.
On second thought if we like any mid-round WRs I would keep Breaston, lose Bowe, draft the wr, and take the trade. It's close but our D would be so legit. _________________

I agree with EB, he comes with a lot of red flags. And remember after the big long holdout he played one season then there was a potential hold out again. (cant remember if he actually did hold out again)
CB's can be found. Yes I was all for resigning Carr so that might look at odds with the previous sentence.. but Carr WAS OUR FIND and thus why I was good with that kinda cost over simply replacement.
No thanks Island, look elsewhere. _________________ Throw to score! Run to win!

Best cover corner in the league and all we have to do is drop back 7 spots? I'll surely take it. BUT, there are so many red flags surrounding this guy, (and his knee being the least important one believe it or not) that I just don't know if he's worth it. Holdout after holdout with this guy. _________________

Jets won't trade him unless they get the offer they want. And by the looks of what you guys are proposing, that's not gonna cut it. You can't lowball for the only shut-down cornerback in the league, it just doesn't work that way. Even if he is coming off an ACL tear (which is hardly a big deal with modern medicine) and wants a new contract, he is worth more than what you are proposing.
Look at the haul that Jared Allen netted. That would be good a starting point. _________________
