- Look at how much Jake Long accounted for our salary cap. That money is much better served elsewhere.
- Incognito and Fasano as our 6th and 7th highest paid players was surprising. They play relatively lower important positions and do not really excel at them.
- Richard Marshall got a nice little contract and needs to stay healthy so that I can see if he is worth it or not.
- Carpenter was real overpaid for how he kicked this year.
- Ireland got Cameron Wake on a excellent contract. Great work by the GM on that one.
- Hartline at 1.4 mil will get a nice little raise this year regardless.
- Reshad Jones needs to be extended now...
- Legedu Naanee made 540,000 for literally nothing. He should have paid the Dolphins money for his performance.
- Marcus Thigpen provided great value. One thing Ireland does well is find undrafted FA.
Top 5 Overpaid
1) Jake Long
2) Dan Carpenter
3) Anthony Fasano
4) Richie Incognito
5) Lydon Murtha
Top 5 Steals
1) Cameron Wake
2) Reshad Jones
3) Mike Pouncey
4) Brandon Fields
5) Brian Hartline _________________

I concur with the above lists except I'd place Dansby at #2 on the Overpaid. |

Cam Wake is the best value on the team and i still believe Ireland is going to renegotiate Dansby's contract. _________________

Top 5 Overpaid:
1. Long - it has to be. for that much money he needs to play like the best LT in the league, and he hasn't / can't (?) in this scheme.
2. McDaniel - $4 million for a backup DT who doesn't play much
3. Incognito - he is an okay to good guard, but not worth $5 million in this scheme
4. Bush - $6 million for under 1k yards and limited impact
5. Dansby - good player, but not worth $10 million
Notice that all of these players are FA signings.
Top 5 Steals
1. Pouncey - $2 million for one of the best centers in the league? Yes please
2. Wake - Makes less than 100k more than Pouncey (I'll reiterate great extension by Ireland here)
3. Jones - 580k for a borderline probowler
4. Sean Smith - 800k
5. Hartline - 1.4 mil is a steal for his production
Notice they're all in their rookie contracts with the exception of Wake. Most of the "steals" are probably going to end up like that. _________________

I completely agree with this....I like Bush, but outside of maybe Peterson no RB is worth more then 4 million a year....especially in the age of Passing offenses. _________________

If Lydon Murtha's agent is out there reading this, please can you assist me in contract negotiations with my employer.
Just as a note here, while we are all eagerly awaiting Free Agency due to the cash at Ireland's disposal, I find myself glancing at recently acquired free agent Richard Marshall's number on that list with concern. Injury or no injury, that is an overpaid young man. |

For what we got out of LONG, that was dead money imo. Samething with Dan Carpenter, he lost us two games, dead money. _________________

Most of the team is on pretty good contracts for what we get out of them.
Overpaid in no order:
Carpenter- Kicker. Give me a rookie, they play for pennies and generally are pretty good.
Long- Rough season, makes a lot. I would keep him for the right price though.
Bush- AP is about the only back I would pay that much.
McDaniel- Solid player but that is a lot of cash for a reserve, Randall I think is ready for that role.
Dansby- I guess. Makes a lot of $ but that is what you have to pay FA. If he made more impact plays he'd be fine. I will say he was injured for half the year. Schematically we didn't take care of his true versatility. Played some S in AZ and also can rack up 6-7 sacks if used better.
Devone Bess- Score me some touchdowns or make impact plays. In this offense slot receivers are expendable.
Underpaid in no order
Matt Moore- Starting caliber QB and I am not convinced that we wouldn't have won more games with him starting tbh. Obviously Tannehill should've started, but Moore is the best back up in the league and could start for 8 teams probably.
Sean Smith- Good CB. Probably top 20 in the NFL and didn't even make a million this season.
Reshad Jones- Obvious.
Cam Wake- Obvious. _________________

Long was a first overall draft pick by us and we traded for McDaniel and Bush. So only 2 of them were FA signings. |

| Lydon Murtha had a large cap number because he was a restricted free agent and was tendered at a 2nd round level but didn't actually cost us anything because we cut him before the season began |

| Not re-signing McDaniel and Starks will give us enough money to make a run at Michael Johnson. |

I realize JakeLong was the most overpaid for what the Fins received in return but how about McDaniel. That got was paid 4M. Why? He has never proven to be that sort of player. He is a 2M dollar player tops. _________________ "Yesterday Is History, Tomorrow Is A Mystery, And Today Is A Gift. That Is Why It Is Called The Present.""
