Players know the rules. He shouldn't have worn his socks low. _________________

Then it's the same issue and same result. You see players constantly pulling their socks up because they know it's the rule. To have both socks that low isn't a matter of not having time to pull them up. He broke the established rules, plain and simple. _________________

$10,000 is too much for having your socks too low. Sorry, no one could convince me otherwise. _________________

Maybe they should just suspend him for the super bowl . Seriously how ridiculous is it that you can't choose if you want long or short socks. I would think in a dome it might get a little hot. I would bring them down also. _________________

Thank God, I was worried this crime was going to be unpunished. I mean really, it may be a violent sport, but we are still civilized! You could practically see his ankles! Last I checked, this was football, not a brothel! _________________

It's a job that has a dress code. It's amazing to me that people don't recognize that 99% of jobs have dress codes. This is no different. He broke the dress code and was penalized for doing so. This isn't a matter of one coming down and him not noticing -- it was him deciding "I don't want to follow this rule".
Arguing the amount of the fine is one thing, but arguing that it's a stupid rule is laughable to me. Every sport has a dress code of some sort, some more stringent than others, but they all have them. _________________

No it's stupid. The dress code at my job is to convey professionalism when facing a client. What, specifically, does wearing one's socks too low represent? I understand not wearing cleats that are branded and approved by the NFL, but Frank Gore, by wearing his socks lower, didn't effect branding efforts or anything of the sort. _________________

Otherwise, perhaps because it was the NFCCG? Who knows. _________________
