thought this would be helpful from an x&o's stand point as all the Browns have ever run in the 34 since the return has been as 2 gap 34. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

Yeah, basically not any significant difference. It's just a slightly different way of trying to control 2 gaps by shading the inside gap more. _________________

couldn't listen to it so I will have to take your word for it. The speakers are broke and there were out of headphones here on campus. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

Also the 2 gap is reactionary as you are reacting to the OL. A 1 gap requires more discipline because you are dictating to the OL what you are doing. _________________ “From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renenwed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.” -- J R R Tolkien LOTR |

yeah 2gap gives the defense the ability to make more plays on the FLY IMO since they can pick or choose the gap. Where 1gap, like you said you have to be discipline. If you are a 1gap defense, if the team is discipline you are going to have a good defense but if the entire team isnt discipline than the defense can get torn up. Like you are playing a 1gap defense and a blitzing LB shoots the wrong hole that means you either going to have a huge play: for the offense or defense _________________
