Look if we can nab Joeckle or Fisher, I would not mind it one bit, but I don;t think we have to fill that spot like some think.
We HAVE to upgrade the RG spot and possibly the LG spot. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Another year in the NFL with John Lott. Another year to build his technique, another year with the unit.
I really think where this team needs help is on the interior of the offensive line. Maybe go out and grab a veteran tackle to help Nate, but I really like him in that spot for us. |
He looks to me like a natural 280 lb guy who's maxed out at 295. Looking at his face & frame he doesn't look like a guy who can make it to 310 without sacrificing quickness. Plus he'll be 25 next season...

I agree. I don't know if Arians/Keim/Goodwin/whoever will agree but that's how I feel about it. If we get a crack at a guy like Joeckel we should take him, if not I wouldn't obsess about it. Potter's not the worst offensive lineman on this team, not by a long shot and unlike 3/5 of our current offensive line he's actually got a chance to develop his game and improve over time. _________________

If Joeckel gets to us, well that is a no brainer
I say the chances are less than 1% he gets to #7 overall. |

| Keim was on 910 just now and was talking about Massie and Potter as if they are really happy about those two going forward. He did bring up Potter potentially being moved to guard, though. |

Huh. I don't see Potter at guard personally. Maybe it means they view Potter as a backup and want him to work at guard in able to potentially backup more than 1 position.
Or maybe it doesn't mean anything and I'm just reaching. _________________

I can see him a guard, just.
He is not a overly special athlete, but as a guard you dont have to be.
There his flaws arent magnified as much. |

Me neither, but I like to see a little power in my Guards. Potter to me just seems like a deflector...a get position and stay in the way type of OL. _________________

You do know he was 303 at the combine (And in that picture) right? _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

I don't see Guard in Potter. I think it accentuates his weaknesses in drive blocking and creating space in the ground game and takes away the benefits that his length (34.5" arms) give him on the outside. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

The "weigh-ins" are different day than the athletic drills. Guys are notorious for putting on water-weight before the scale. He played in the 290's during the season, at least that's what MJ said... _________________

And it was not an issue was it? If he played in the 290's that is fine. Why is there such a fascination around having to be 310 to play tackle? _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Specifically for Potter? Run-blocking... _________________
