They are totally different types of receiver. Allen is a big, physical guy in the Brandon Marshall mold with decent YAC abilities. Would be great in a WCO. Hopkins is the most well rounded of the 3 and has tremendous ball skills, too bad he isn't a bit quicker. Think Roddy White. Hunter is a lanky, long strider who would excel as a downfield threat but he's limited in his route running. A very Poor mans Moss. _________________

I compare Hunter to a faster Sidney Rice, with less ability to catch the football. _________________

I don't know anyone who said that. Everyone suspected that New England was going to draft him at 31. |
My bad, not everyone. But there were multiple guys who thought we did. _________________

Let the draft stock plummet...

Jarvis Jones never looked like a blazer by any means, but he didn't look like a 4.92 guy. I'm quite surprised by that. #Georgia |

Some are saying he may be a late 1st round guy now, so the question is, if he is there at our pick, shold we take him based off of value? |

Guys, are we gonna be going wr in round 1? When i see walter football's rd 3, i see a guy they had mocked to us in rd 1, kiper had mocked to us, etc. The guy I like is there, Quinton Patton. I'd go wr rd 2 or 3 or even both, i think, if the value was there. But not rd 1.
http://walterfootball.com/draft2013_3.php
78. St. Louis Rams: Robert Woods, WR, USC
79. Pittsburgh Steelers: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
85. Washington Redskins: Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State
88. Green Bay Packers: Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech
94. Baltimore Ravens: Da'Rick Rogers, WR, Tennessee Tech
96. Kansas City Chiefs: Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M
Just say no to reaching for need in rd 1. _________________ Remember when the Vikings passed on Dan Marino because we had Tommy Kramer? ahhh, good times.

Draft like Jimmie Johnson=bad (2 QB's)
Draft like Jerry Jones=good (take an OT top10) |

At this point I don't think we do. There's some viable split-ends in the 2nd and 3rd round, like Rogers or Dobson. _________________

He looks slow, then skips running at the combine (hear it was for an injury, now, but it always is). Sure looks like a good draft, to me. _________________ Remember when the Vikings passed on Dan Marino because we had Tommy Kramer? ahhh, good times.

I still see them using one of the Rd 1 picks on a WR, because they still need more in the way of outside guys. But, then again, it all depends upon what's available at those spots. The likeliest scenarios are that they go 2 out of the following 3: WR, DT, and LB. _________________

Patton and Woods are similar type receivers to Greg Jennings. I don't think that prevents us from drafting either of them, but I do think we would look for a different type receiver first. _________________

I'd bet my mortgage payment on the Vikings going with a WR on one of their first round picks. Feel that confident in them being that predictable.
Not going to say it would be a disservice to that slot if they were to select a WR, but I don't think they'd be getting the full, immediate value out of that pick. Especially for a developing QB in a vital year. I think LB, CB, DT, and G are all tremendous needs for this team, and in most cases I think they'd be getting more impact from the onset with any of those positions pending who's available. However, the Vikings will obviously ignore guard and the other positions seem to have several players slotted up near each other that could dictate a run on the position.
As far as Allen and Hunter in general, I really hope neither are on this team. Never understood the intrigue. _________________

He would be a horrible pick for the Vikes scheme. He is a pass rusher, one in which is way to small to be a 4-3 DE. He would be pointless as an OLB in a scheme that doesnt blitz often like the Vikings. _________________

I would take him as a 4-3 OLB if he was anything like Von Miller. The question is, is he? _________________

Von Miller plays a lot with his hand in the dirt in pass rush situations. The Vikings wouldnt even use him in the same capacity either. Jones is quite a bit smaller than Miller and doesnt have near the explosive athleticism. Jones is probably a late first to 2nd rd pick. 4.92 is terrible for a pass rusher to run. _________________
