I'd take both Keenan Allen and DeAndre Hopkins over him pretty easily. They both have better hands, run better routes, and are better in yards after the catch. All three of which are very important in the West Coast offense. With that said, I'd probably take Hunter over Williams (same problems as Hunter without the freakish size/speed combo) and Patterson (might be years away from being able to contribute as anything other than a trick play/ screen guy). |
I'd beg to differ. I think Hunter has better hands than Keenan Allen. Allen bobbles a lot of passes. Hunter is a better vertical threat then both of them. The Vikings need a WR that can go deep off the play action. The short passes will go to Harvin and Wright. If Hunter isn't picked day 1 (which is highly unlikely) the Vikings need to make a move on him. I personally want Alec Ogletree in the 1st round, then pair him up with teammate, Bacarri Rambo, in the 3rd. Rambo and Smith would be such a great combo, then Ogletree flying around in the middle of the field would be beautiful. I'd go 1- Ogletree 2- Da'Rick Rogers 3- Bacarri Rambo.
The combine is going to be great for WRs, so many that it's almost a matter of opinion who's better. |
How very ANTI Rick Spielman of you |
Yeah, I don't see them taking 3 guys with major character concerns that high. |

From a raw talent perspective, all 3 would be fantastic for us. But at this stage in the teams development, we need to establish a culture before taking too many chances on high risk high reward guys. If we got 1 or 2 of those 3 I would be good, but all 3 in a row could be very bad. |

I'd be happy with any of the "top" WR's _________________

That's pretty much the order I'd take them in as well. _________________

My personal order of receivers.
1. Cordarelle Patterson (raw, but highest upside IMO)
2. Keenan Allen
3. Quinton Patton
4. DeAndre Hopkins
5. Markus Wheaton _________________

I'm somewhat similar:
1. Cordarelle Patterson
2. Keenan Allen
3. Terrance Williams
4. DeAndre Hopkins
5. Justin Hunter _________________

Yeah true. I'm really high on Rambo. |
Pun intended?
I actually like Rambo a lot as well though. I think he would be a perfect fit next to Harry given his ability to play deep zone, deep halves, and in the box. He's had 3 years of experience in the best conference in college football and has been a takeaway machine...something that few safeties are and something we desperately need to really put our defense over the top |

I love your list, basically looks like mine.
I have mocked Patton, Patterson, Wheaton to the Vikes at one point or another.
I like Hopkins a lot, I would probably put him over Patton, but just slightly.
I agree on #1 and #2. I would probably put Terrance Williams as #5 with Wheaton as #6. |

I think Keenan Allen is far and away the best WR on the board. 1st tier, top-15
Patterson and Hunter have off-the-charts ability but VERY raw. 2nd tier, 1st round
Guys like Patton, Hopkins, Williams and Woods are the 3rd tier, 2nd round. _________________ From the fool’s gold mouthpiece the hollow horn,

Just wondering what everybody thinks Justin Hunters floor and ceiling are.
I like his game and think he's going to be a very good player. |
