Here it is.... I know its early and many moves must be made but what do you guys think our record will be.... this is a real tough schedule if you ask me and alot of these teams will be better. Tampa and carolina will be better and both were hot at one point of season, and new orleans will be back

Ask again in August...
Seriously
- for at least four of those teams (NYJ/BUF/ARZ/WAS), we don't know who the starting QB will be when we play them.
- the salary cap/floor is going to have an effect on our 3 divisional rivals - CAR/NO will be cutting and TB will be spending. Miami will also be very active in free agency.
- STL has two 1st round draft picks and every team could add the next Geno Atkins or Carl Nicks in the late rounds
- We don't know how OUR team will look in 8 months (what will the OL be; who will be the DBs, what additions will be made to the DL, who replaces Turner and Tony).
Team turnover is far too rapid for predictions at this stage to be anything more than blindfolded throws at a dartboard. _________________

He didn't do "alright" at the end of the year. He performed ok in the playoffs, but he will never be able to do that during a whole season. Not worth the money, the dude is just washed up and does not fit this offense. Love Turner and appreciate that he was one of the key building blocks in our rebuilding phase, but NFL is a business. _________________

No - Turner is due $8m next year. We save 5.5m by releasing him.
And yes, he should be gone. He was a great servant to the franchise, but his burst is gone. Even if he agreed to play for the vet minimum, I'm still of the opinion that I'd rather give the carries to a drafted back. _________________

To be honest, I'm pumped we play New England, SF, and Seattle. All the more experience against the teams before the playoffs. I feel like having an easier schedule almost hurt us this year. Being tested against best in the league should give us a boost headed into the playoffs. _________________

That 5.5m sounds very useful _________________

I just know if we do 4 things before kickoff next September, we'll be down right frightening and dominating like some old school team.
Keep Oline playing well.
Get pressure on QB's.
Get 1 or 2 stud RBs.
Figure out how and why we come on deadly strong in the 1st 1/2 and lay down so easily. Adjustments to adjustments. Get rid of who is responsible immediately and ruin their life.
Make sure he is stuck fitting 2 pounds of poop in 1 pound bags for the next 20 years in Alaska.
.. or ofcourse quietly get him on with the Saints.
Hell yes it's do'able. |
