2-..not us or the Raiders.
Also, he was bad this year. |
He was injured most of it. But half expected he'd still feel bitter. _________________

I wonder if Seymour would come back. Also if for some reason Melton hits the market sign him. | Pretty sure Seymour burned his bridges on the way out. I remember reading about him and Belichick not getting along right before he was traded, and then he had the whole "30 other teams" comment. And he's not even that good. Seriously, Desmond Bryant is the guy on that DL that we want.
Big yes on Melton, despite how unrealistic it is. _________________ Shut up, NBT |

I only heard that they were negotiating and then when he got dealt to Oakland he was extremely angry and refused to show up there at first. _________________

Other than that, re-signing Talib and Vollmer is of paramount importance. And for goodness sake, get Vince a reliable interior d-line partner or two. Re-sign Edelman and draft a shiny new receiver. And last but not least, a safety that can make us forget about Chung and allow Gregory be a nickel/dime player exclusively. |
I don't think a RT for $8M+ (unless he's willing to take a decent discount or his injuries scare off every other team) is of paramount importance.
As much as I like Vollmer and as much as his talent is worth big bucks, I just don't know that spending big money on RT is worth it.
Letting Chung go seems like a no-brainer at this point and I really would be surprised if the Pats even extend an offer to him. |

Chiefs will. Reid loves our DBs for whatever reason. Though I do miss Hobbs.
Also do you think of Grimes. Coming off a serious injury could give a 1 yr show me deal for solid money and he can get his big contract? _________________

The Vollmer decision intrigues me, and it's only gotten more interested as he got more healthy.
Pro-resigning:
He's awesome
Solder is cheap for two more years, Connolly and Wendell will never make big money
Even at less than ideal health, he's better than many RTs
Anti-resigning:
He has LT ability and will likely get an offer to do so
That back seems to be a chronic issue even if it's under control now
The Pats could want to use that cap money elsewhere
Cannon has not looked bad in the few games that we've seen him _________________ Shut up, NBT |

Chung played under Chip Kelly and the Eagles need a S. I think that's where that idea came from. |

It really comes down to two things:
1. Do the Pats want to sink big bucks into (arguably) the least important position in their starting offense?
2. Will Vollmer take a discount - assuming other teams do not lowball him due to injury concerns
I'd rather see Cannon (or similar) + $8M spent on the defense but it's tough to say without knowing whether or not the Pats can effectively re-allocate that money. If some team swoops in on the first day of free agency and offers Vollmer a big deal, I'd say they would have to let him go. |

Not like we're short on cap space, especially if they make the smart move and let Welker go. And they've done this before just last offseason, I don't think anyone in that front office thought Welker was worth 9.5m, but they deemed it an acceptable number because of his importance (perceived or otherwise) and the amount of cap space at their disposal. _________________

Defense should be number 1 on the list and possible getting a deep threat for Brady. Lloyd is spectacular when making these catches but one more threat is nice.
Got to get to QB's more. That has always been a successful plan and will continue to be successful as its a QB driven league now. _________________

...Ben Tate for Ryan Mallett? Lemmie know, I'll give Rick Smith a call. Billy-B owes me a few favors, so let's get a deal done. _________________
