Hey guys,

I traditionally do a quick run-down of the prospects coming from my alma mater, UNC. This year, I am stoked to be able to report on one of my long-time friends that I played with in high school who will be a late round steal at WR. His name is Jheranie Boyd and he is 6'1, 190 lbs. He ran track at UNC in the spring, and the last time I talked to him, he said he was running a 4.20 40 yard dash on track and 4.35 on grass. He has a great head on his shoulders with excellent work ethic. He will probably be a 7th round pick or UDFA. Here is his highlight video:

Here's my brief analysis of the other UNC prospects (who hopefully did not take any independent study courses during their tenure...). We have a relatively good crop of guys coming out this year!

1. Jonathan Cooper, OG: 1st rounder - Absolute beast in the run game. Struggled a little in pass protection, but has the agility and hands to be a proficient pass blocker.

2. Giovani Bernard, RB: 1/2 rounder - This guy could be the steal of the draft if he can stay healthy. He is the best RB we have had in a long time. He has been a star since his freshman year, and has excellent return abilities. He was the most dynamic player on our team, and arguably the best RB in the nation.

3. Sylvester Williams, DT: 2/3 rounder - I have not been all that impressed with UNC defensive tackles for the past few years. I believe that he his overrated and should not be a 1st or 2nd round selection. He has good size and a nice burst, but he is very inconsistent.

4. Kevin Reddick, LB: 3/4 rounder: This guy continues a nice trend of speedy, disruptive linebackers from UNC (e.g. Bruce Carter, Zach Brown, etc.). He will be a steal on day two. He will need to be coached up, but he has the physical attributes of a solid linebacker.

5. Travis Bond, OG: 4/5 rounder: I probably know the least about Travis Bond, but he has great size. He is overshadowed by Jonathan Cooper, but the interior of our line was very good this year, and this guy probably had something to do with it. He will probably be a solid mid-round guard.

6. Erik Highsmith, WR: 5/6 rounder: This guy has great size (6'3) and great hands. However, he lacks great speed and struggles with separation. He does have great potential to be a solid late rounder.

SKOL Vikings!
