I have not done one of these in a long time.

Free agency:

Kerry Rhodes, FS - Reunited with Ray Horton. Gives leadership, experience and is a upgrade over our current safeties.

Keenan Lewis, CB - Gives us the #2 CB that we badly need. Helps us finish the secondary. This is our "big name free agent."

Draft:

1. Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon - Gives us the 3/4 OLB pass rusher we can develop. He has the size and athletic ability to cover tight ends.

3. Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky - Never going to be a pro bowler. However I expect him to be a very solid player for us.

4. Joseph Fauria, TE, UCLA - Gives us a big athletic body at TE.

5. Chris Jones, DT, Bowling Green - Phenomenal pass rusher and helps us finish the d-line

6. Tyran Mathieu, CB, LSU - I expect him to drop pretty far because of his size and character issues. Horton could get the best out of him

6. Ray Ray Armstrong, SS, Miami - Depth at safety same as Mathieu

7. Quinn Sharp, P, Oklahoma State - We need a punter Laughing

Final Roster:

QB: Weeden, McCoy, Lewis
RB: Richardson, Hardesty, Jackson
FB: Smelley
WR: Gordon, Little, Momass, Benjamin, Norwood, Cribbs
TE: Fauria, Cameron, Smith
OT: Thomas, Schwartz, Miller
OG: Warford, Lavaou, Pinkston
OC: Mack, Greco

DE: Taylor, Jones
NT: Rubin, Hughes
DE: Winn, Rucker

OLB: Jordan, Acho
MLB: DQ, JMJ, Fort
MLB: Gocong, Maiava, Robertson
OLB: Sheard, Stephens
CB: Haden, Lewis, Skrine, Mathieu, Wade
FS: Rhodes, Young
SS: Ward, Armstrong

K: Dawson
P: Sharp
LS: Younst (sp?)

Obviously our biggest need going forward is depth

I like it, but I'm not that sold on Fauria being an effective NFL TE, and certainly not being an immediate starter.

I'd rather sign a FA OG than draft one. Veteran lineman are generally better than rookies.

Just noticed you re-signed MoMass. Hope there's some sort of clause in his contract that allows us to cut him without penalty if he misses a game.

I think the starters on that 53 would make Cleveland a wildcard contender. The depth would be why we miss.

1. I think Fauria could definetly be a starter. Agree to disagree

2. I 100% agree with you and I hope we do that. I just think we miss out on Levitre and I don't know who we would look at.

3. Momass gets a lot of crap on this site. He is fine as a #3 WR. Don't expect a lot out of him but he will contribute. No point in signing a different guy that will need to develop chemistry with Weeden.

-I personally am not sure how much more Kerry Rhodes has left in the tank, that is my only real concern with him, other than that I agree with you on hm

Keenan Lewis, CB - Gives us the #2 CB that we badly need. Helps us finish the secondary. This is our "big name free agent."

-I would be ok with this signing

Draft:

1. Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon - Gives us the 3/4 OLB pass rusher we can develop. He has the size and athletic ability to cover tight ends.

I like this pick Jordan has experience playing standing uo and is very good in coverage his long figure would be good to get his arms in the QB's line of sight and knock down some passes, If Damontre moore is not there, Jordan is the next 3-4 OLB for me with Jones spine.

3. Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky - Never going to be a pro bowler. However I expect him to be a very solid player for us.

- I think Warford is a very underrated prospect. Kentucky is not that good of a team so he kind of gets lost in that, but he is a big roda grading guard who made Derreck Locke look very good at kentucky, also pretty athletic for his size.

4. Joseph Fauria, TE, UCLA - Gives us a big athletic body at TE.

I am not an overly big fan of Fauria, I think he is a little overrated, I would rather take someone like Gavin Escobar here if were going to go TE. I think his upside is bettter than Fauria's

5. Chris Jones, DT, Bowling Green - Phenomenal pass rusher and helps us finish the d-line

Honestly I don't know a whole lot about this guy some I really cant give a fair assessment of this pick

6. Tyran Mathieu, CB, LSU - I expect him to drop pretty far because of his size and character issues. Horton could get the best out of him

At this point I am perfectly fine with this pick, I personally think that he could play FS so he can be a special teams guy right now and learn under Kerry Rhodes for a year or two. at this point in the draft the risk is fully outweighed by the possible reward.

6. Ray Ray Armstrong, SS, Miami - Depth at safety same as Mathieu

I think at this Point Ray Ray is going to be an UDFA, he had some problems at Miami that got him kicked out, and has been having I think academic issues at an NAIA school, I mean at this point in the draft if he doesnt work out you can easily just cut him. Physically he is impressive, but never has really lived up to his potential.

7. Quinn Sharp, P, Oklahoma State - We need a punter Laughing

i like the position pick casue we do need a punter, I may choose a different one depending on which ones are available here though, we could maybe even take a better punter in the 6th adn take ray ray here

I like the mock, but Mathieu and Armstrong scare the poo out of me.

I could get down with one of them as a 'roll-of-the-dice' type of pick, but both seems to be a bit much for me.

Pretty solid though.

There are only 3 choices for #6 IMO: Star, D. Moore, or Milliner.

Disagree. I think depending on the combine/interviews/medicals, Jarvis Jones, Dion Jordan, and Bjeorn Werner could all be in the conversation.

What if Jacksonville takes Moore, Oakland takes Star and Detroit takes Milliner

The reason why I bring it up is because it very well could happen

I agree.

Most on this board like those three players because they are all sound prospects in a somewhat weak draft, at least at the top.

I'm guessing other teams will feel similar.

If it's me, I'd be looking at Dion Jordon or Johnthan Banks in that situation.
